Junior: Jackson Academy offers a wide variety of opportunities for its students. There is a wide variety of boys/girls sports that are very successful at the state level, including a D1 producing girls VB team. JA also offers strong arts programs such as show choir, band, theatre, and color guard. Unlike any other MS school, JA offers a sports broadcasting program comparable to SEC sports productions. JA's history and English departments are the strongest academic aspects of the school. The maths and science departments are good, but nothing exceptional. Alum: Most phenomenal teachers a district could hope for. These teachers pour themselves into the students and work so hard to motivate them and teach them about things that are truly important. Of course the students learn about math and grammar, but the teachers also teach them about things like the United States Constitution or how a bill becomes a law--lessons that will stick with them for the rest of their lives, regardless of what they decide to be when they grow up, and lessons that are fun and different! Middle School Student: the school is very serious about work. complete all assignments and have good behavior. Alum: I am very pleased with Mount Salus. They provide a wide variety of academic, dual-enrollment, and extra-curricular opportunities. The teachers are understanding and open-eared. Mount Salus makes it clear, they care for God's children, so I would feel comfortable sending a parent there. As an alum, I am proud to represent the eagles everywhere I go. The lunches were great and the price was fair. The everyday culture is Christian-based even though they welcome other religions. It was a great experience. The class sizes are small and personal so every student has an opportunity to have their voice heard. Sophomore: My experience attending Clinton High School has been enjoyable. I appreciate how the teachers make themselves available us when we need additional help with the classwork. My math teacher has set up a reoccurring zoom link for students to log onto after school for tutoring. She tells us it brings her joy to see us understanding the lesson. The administrators are very kind towards the student body. My coaches show that they want to see me succeed both on the court and off the court. They constantly remind me that I am a "student" athletic. Emphasis on the word, student. I love the atmosphere and culture of our school. Senior: It's a great school to explore! It is a great school if you are looking for opportunities in sports. This school is good really just for opportunities. The schools have a great set of teachers that help you in all ways and the school rewards you with beautiful trips out of town. Alum: I liked Bailey Apac. They should have more activities for the students.I had fun my 6th and 7th grade year. For 6th grade it was fun because it was a new environment and it was just refreshing to meet new students. For my 7th grade what made it fun was that I became a Bailey Knight's cheerleader and we had prep rallies and little things like that.But last year(when I was in the 8th grade) we didn't do any fun things. Sophomore: Casey Elementary School was a great school that is founded upon arts and academics. It is the best school in the district because students always scored the highest on the MCT. Alum: Honestly as somebody that went to Central Hinds from the beginning and finished out at the end this year, I think it’s a good school. I don’t care about how it stacks up to other schools, that’s just bogus. I had fun, I’ve proven I’m knowledgeable in a lot of areas, and I made a lot of friends. Bullying was a problem, but I’ve seen it shrink less and less every semester. Bad teachers were a problem, but I’ve seen them get gradually get weeded out and replaced by much better teachers. Athletics couldn’t have been better this year! We made it to the semifinals in football, semifinals in soccer, overall tournament in basketball, and the playoffs in baseball. Yeah, the school probably does pay more attention to athletics than it should, but can you blame them? We did really good haha. I would honestly recommend it to anybody that is interested.
