Senior: When I first started at ASD in sixth grade, I was determined to go somewhere else for high school. Now, I'm a senior, and staying was the best choice I ever made. ASD might be small and nerdy, but it has an incredible community. The teachers aren't there for the money; they're there because they're passionate and knowledgeable. The students all know and support each other. We're best known for our academics, and for good reason. The high-school-level classes start in 7th grade, and they remain challenging and innovative all the way through 12th. Overall, ASD was ranked the number one high school in NH, and it truly is.... Middle School Student: I go here it is awesome! Everyone is so welcoming and is very kind and I already have a ton of friends. Curriculum is tough, but worth it, and you are still able to do out of school activities. Staff and Admins are amazing and genuinely care about the students education. There is a wide array of after-school clubs including but not limited to: Drama Club, Book Club, Sci-Fi Club, First Lego League, Math Counts, Science Quiz Bowl, and Band. Do note that the only sport they have is Middle School Cross-Country but you are able to participate in sports in your district. Parent: Our daughter is a sophomore and absolutely loves her teachers, classes, coaches, classmates, sports teams, music, singing, theatre and student leadership activities. It is an excellent, student- and community-centric school with an inclusive, positive culture. There is a morning, early and late afternoon bus to the seacoast and various other locations attracting students from NH and Mass. A wonderful school with really fantastic, caring teachers - most with masters and PhD's. The teachers and leaders of the school and the caring community they create are the reasons we are there. Junior: The academics here are amazing, it’s one of the best schools in New Hampshire for a reason. Most teachers, especially History and English, are super understanding to their students issues, like they want their students to pass; which is more than I can say about most math and science classes. A big problem with the school is the student body, we all kind of hate each other, but like that’s less of a HBHS issue and of a us issue. I will say though, this school is super competitive and often times a detriment to students mental health, where kids grind every day just to be the best and take the best classes, and they just suffer. Also, Admin can be understanding, however, they often can overpolice students to the point that it feels just silly with the all the new rules and strict regulations. But like they let students express themselves in any way, especially with no dress code, which is a double edged sword. Lastly, if you want to feel happy, never take French or Ms. Leonard.... Alum: Obviously a high school experience is dependent on a variety of factors, but I truly believe that Bedford High School cares about its students. The teachers are kind and accessible; there are numerous opportunities for extracurricular involvement; and the school itself is enrolled in a variety of large competitions/etc. for students -- if a student works hard enough, they'll easily find that BHS has a lot to offer, especially as a public school. The only issue is with administration, which primarily operates under the reactionary shadow of aggressive parents, making it hard to see long-lasting change of any sort, and also preventing students from really getting involved in their curriculum-based/formal education.... Alum: I enjoyed my experience at Souhegan High School. As a recently graduated student, I can confidentially say that this school and the staff are eager to help you achieve your future goals all while maintains a fun, friendly, and sustainable environment. Some of the best parts of my experience included certain courses such as global citizenship as well as marine biology in which I took my senior year as these two courses helped me build more of an interest in the world around me. Along with classes, having free periods is nice too. Souhegan sets you up for free time throughout your first three years of high school by making it so most people can knock out needed credits allowing time for free periods or classes that you want to take for fun but aren’t required. Overall, I believe that Souhegan high school is a good school in which not only prepares you for the future but also teaches you things you can do to be a better citizen, person, and learner.... Senior: Overall, my experience at Bishop Guertin High School has been amazing, not only for furthering my academic knowledge but bringing me friendships with many that will last a lifetime. On the positive side of Bishop Guertin, the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and always have pushed me hard, no matter the subject, putting me in a far better place for my future than those attending public schools. In addition, I have always been held to a very high standard while at Bishop Guertin High School, which leads to the fact that I am well-prepared for my college years and all of my future endeavors. On the negative side of Bishop Guertin High School, there is almost too much homework and assessments as it becomes very overwhelming. Also, the teachers tend to put unnecessary stress on the students, which becomes exhausting. Other: No, there is no fancy facility or tons of extra curricular offerings such as sports. This is an underfunded charter school in NH. But with that being said, the academics are stellar, the staff truly cares for kids and the administration knows what they are doing ( I will take experience and consistency in how things are handled over popularity any day). My child made great strides, leaned real world skills and wished they had a high school. Charter schools are not for everyone, and that is okay, but this one is worth checking out! Junior: During my time at Founders, I’ve overall had a positive experience. The majority of teachers here are nice, understanding, and devoted to making sure students reach mastery in class. The community at Founder’s is also good; I’ve never seen any bullying in my 5 years of attendance. The worst thing about this school is the lack of AP classes. I believe there’s only one available and it’s in computer science. I understand that it’s a new school, but it’s really annoying especially when trying to build up a college resume....
