Parent: Our children received a world-class education at ISM. They were extremely well-prepared for college and both received merit-based Regent Scholarships (full-ride tuition) for all four years of their university expreriences thanks to the International School of Minnesota. The math program is second to none in the Twin City area, with most students successfully completing all AP math courses offered by the College Board by their junior year and then taking at least one more year of college level math before graduating. Teachers at ISM are passionate about the subjects they teach. The school is passionate about students' success in academics, in citizenship, and in extra-curriculars. One of the greatest aspects of the school is the annual all-school musical where students from first to twelfth grade work together to create extraordinary, memorable performances! Parent: We have 3 children who attend MA - 2 in the Lower School, 1 in the Middle School. We moved them from a local public school in fall of 2020. Things we appreciate: 1. Ability to cater to both my straight A student AND my child who needs extra supports. 2. Teachers who know my kids. I mean truly take time to KNOW them. Our first conferences left me shedding a tear about how much they care about my kids. 3. Smaller class sizes. We all understand the importance of this. 4. I have confidence decisions from administration have been planned, thought out, etc. Even if I don’t agree 100% I do feel like they go through a due process. 5. MA is a Christian school but I don’t feel like religion is being “forced” on my kids. What could use improvement: Increase diversity - staff and student body. Alum: Wayzata High School is filled with a lot of memories and experiences. It offers many opportunities and the staff members are all supportive. From fashion to culinary, the school provides classes for students with all types of dreams. It has advanced classes to challenge some students but also offers slow-paced classes to help other students who need a little boost. Senior: I started going to Eden Prairie Highschool as a junior. It was overwhelming to move from a school of 300 to 3000, but I was pleasantly surprised by how diverse the school was and how social everyone was. At first, I didn't actually care too much for the school outside of academics and graduating but with the wide array of clubs here, I found a few new interests. I'm apart of the DND club and I love it! Most clubs are completely student-run which makes it feel less like an extra class and more like a hangout to express your interests. Academic-wise, I'm actually stunned at the amount of interesting and unique classes you can be apart of. I mean, there's a whole class dedicated to historical assassinations and nothing else! Although, coming from Canada, the lack of information counselors give you about everything is kind of disappointing. Sophomore: All of my teachers are incredible, and the school is pretty nice. The views from the lunch room are amazing, the food is pretty good, and the options for classes are incredible. The one concern for some students is money. Lots of kids at EHS come from incredibly wealthy families, and events like Homecoming and Football games display the wealth. Alum: Some things that I liked from this school was the wide range in academics and subjects to study. They had a variety of electives that allows students to explore their interests and potential careers. Niche User: I go to this school, it’s great. Teachers are very kind and helpful, it offers gifted and talented classes. Food is overall average just like most elementary schools. The specialists include: Physical education, Music classes, Library class, Art class, technology, and Spanish for the 4th and 5th graders. Middle School Student: Yes, it is possible to enjoy middle school. There are a lot of kids at the school but the classes are small and specialized. The teachers know all the kids very well and work hard to reach them. Fulltime Latin program starting in 6th grade, not many schools offer Latin - most importantly the kids LOVE it and even have a float in the Homecoming parade.
