Junior: I have never felt more prepared and excited for college than I do at this school. Not only is the schedule built like a college schedule, but the same rhetoric applies to class structure and community being built. If you or your kid has a talent for the arts they will get some world class training from world class professors here. Academics are strong, but sometimes overwhelming, and administration and fellow staff has an alarming turn over rate, that being said, if you believe you are a capable student you can make it. Dorms and food are so so. The residence hall is small and dated, and the food provided by Aramark is notoriously bad, but there always seems to be vegan and kosher options available, even if they’re very simple. The social scene still has all the traditional pitfalls of highschool, if not heightened due to the residential living situation, but that is unavoidable. Senior: Saint Joe’s has wonderful teachers who genuinely care about their students. There is a lot of opportunity for leadership, and the new House system prides even more! The student life is characterized by a lot of hard work but an equal amount of school events. The atmosphere is welcoming and rigorous, leaving little time for bullying or unruly conduct. Senior: I have attended Green Charter School as a student since 7th grade. The School is public but managed like a private school. I give it four out five stars. I think the School provides a special environment for students. The Middle/High School is Small with less than 300 students. Even though the campus is still very diverse with student from America, Middle East, Europe, Central and South America, and India. The social order of students isn't really a problem as a lot of student would be considered nerds or geeks in other schools. We also have to wear uniforms to school. Administration is sometimes overly-strict and exaggerating at times. This is especially true on dress code issues and interactions between genders. I do wish the school cared and supported the Music and Arts more. I also wish the School would invest more in the prospect of having a library. We do have Sports teams. Parent: Greenville Technical Charter High School is a great school! It has small class sizes that allow faculty to get to know students well and help them when needed. The faculty seem to care about the success of each student. The great opportunity exists here to explore Greenville Technical College’s course offerings while in high school, and make progress toward (or complete!) an associate’s degree while still a high school student. Being on the main Greenville Tech campus is an advantage over the other similar charter schools as there are college courses offered on the main campus that are not available on the other Greenville Tech satellite campuses, allowing for a larger variety of college credits to be easily earned. GTCHS retains all of expected high school experiences (athletics, fine arts, student social events, student organizations) while also serving the community by students completing service hours through many varied opportunities. Niche User: I appreciate the opportunity this school provides for students. They have a very specific mission that is not for every child. The students whose parents are negative about the school are the ones who create a poor environment for others. Some parents are very negative and have bullied staff to get their way, even posting negative comments here. Parents are made aware of the mission and expectations. Alum: I loved my 6 years at CTC! The teachers are so supportive and creative, we were never bored in class. Some of them were very liberal, especially in middle school, but most of them are still non-discriminative of more conservative people like myself. CTC is a community of learners, everybody knows everybody, and everyone is welcome. CTC will challenge you, inspire you, and force you to grow. It is a second home and you will miss it after you leave. I will say that there is a large gap between CTCers and Sterling kids. They’re only together at lunch, recess, and related arts, but I honestly don’t understand why the two schools are combined. Alum: I loved this high school, there were so many paths to choose from. They offer courses at the Donaldson center, fine arts center, they have several classes here, and they always make sure students do their best in the core classes. So many amazing teachers and faculty working here! The AP classes are amazing as well, they really get students prepared for college level classes while improving their overall GPA in high school. Senior: Wade Hampton is an interesting school, because all students, no matter what emphasis they take on, are passionate about their school. The sports teams are determined and united, the academics are hungry for knowledge and optimistic for a future career in STEAM, and, with the Fine Arts Center being so close, the majority of the students attending Wade are passionate about the arts. Middle School Student: At Langston, classes are single gender, so each gender learns using techniques that would most pertain to them. Langston is a small school which can sometime be a bad thing, but mostly it is a ood thing. Having a smaller school can mean less facilities, but it is good since you get to know all your teachers and peers on a more personal level. When I first came to Langston, I was very shy, but by the end of my first year, I was open about things, and I wouldn't be scared to answer or ask questions. The friends you have at Langston also matters. Langston is filled with good students and people in general. Going there can mean meeting friends you'll have for a long time. You will also get to know your teachers better so you won't be nervous to ask them anything, and you can treat them like a normal peer. In my opinion, Langston is one of the best middle schools I have seen in South Carolina, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who may want to join.... Read 6 reviews

Senior: What I love about SCS is the community and the family that you have the whole attending and even after graduation. The student, teachers, coaches, administration, and everyone involved at SCS help you as a student feel accepted and loved. Faith and scripture are intertwined throughout every course you take, and not to mention the Bible and theology courses that you will take throughout attending. I have personally grown unbelievably closer to God because of my attendance at SCS. I am also involved heavily in the athletic program at SCS and I could not ask for a better group of coaches and teams. Parent: Had two daughter go through Woodland and I could not have asked for a better school to prepare them for Middle School, High School and further. The Administration, Teachers and Staff always have the students placed first in everything that goes on at the school. I can vouch for that because I saw it first hand while serving as PTA President and Vice President for the school for about 5 years total. Even now, after one daughter has graduated College and one is still in College, teachers they had asked about them and how they are doing when they see me around town. Senior: My experience at Greer Middle College Charter High School has been wonderful! The teachers are truly extraordinary and they go out of their way to help their students. The administration does an excellent job of running everything and keeping everyone on top of their game. As a student with an IEP, I must say that Greer Middle College does a tremendous job of making sure I have access to all of my accommodations and that I will always get help when I need it.
