- Rating 4.38 out of 5 71 reviews
Sophomore: The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy Isn’t just another private school. In fact, it is open up to the public! Going to this school might be one of the greatest decisions of my life. Now although we aren’t the normal school with all the clubs and sports, we specifically specialize in the fine arts! Not only did i make friends of my lifetime, I get to do what I love here, sing! Everyone here is so thoughtful, smart, creative, and we are all just one big family. I will always remember this school as it will always be apart of my life. Go Phantoms!

Gunter High School
#2 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Gunter Independent School District, TX
- Rating 3.7 out of 5 91 reviews
Junior: It is a small town and high school, so there is a very close knit community where almost everyone knows each other. Because of its small status, it doesn’t provide as many opportunities, but the staff and administration are all very helpful.

Texoma Christian School
- Private School
- SHERMAN, TX
- PK, K-12
- Rating 4.3 out of 5 27 reviews
Senior: Small classes and good teachers. Basketball is the best but we need more sports. The campus is pretty and there is a lot of potential for growth. Hopefully, we will be able to add more permanent buildings in the future. I think this will help draw in younger families to the school. Being able to have classes that study the Bible is very important. Openly worshiping our Lord and Savior is a huge plus for my school. I wish we had a shop class or more "hands-on" training for kids aren't college-bound. The service industry is a huge draw as well and offering those types of classes could be a huge asset to Texoma Christian. Sherman, where is located, is definitely growing so offering a broader base of class will help enrollment.

#3 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Tioga Independent School District, TX
- PK, K-12
- Rating 4.47 out of 5 15 reviews
Senior: I've attended Tioga ISD since I was in PK, I am now currently a Senior with one semester left to graduate. I've experienced my school change throughout the years. Tioga grew at a fast rate and is now about 4 times its size in 2005. Reasons for this is Tioga graduated it's first high school class of 2016 since the 1950s when the high school burnt down and it began offering free dual credit classes. Also, I've had the chance to be a part of my school's volleyball team where we earned it's first ever State Volleyball Championship, and it's first ever State Championship. What I like about Tioga is its caring teachers, successful academics and sports, free college credits offered, and most of all that our senior class of 2018 will be the first-ever graduating class to walk through the new replica of the old high school currently being built. Also, I’d like to see a variety of foods to pick from during lunch since some of the foods are not all that great.

Van Alstyne High School
#4 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Van Alstyne Independent School District, TX
- Rating 3.66 out of 5 109 reviews
Alum: I loved attending Van Alstyne High School from my sophomore year through my senior year. I enjoyed the small town feelings the school shared everyday. The football games were always exciting and intense. You would drive however far to support your team. The teaching staff knew everyone's name and took time to know who you are as a person. You never felt left out of anything, everyone had something to be involved in. I was involved with the softball team, the National Honor Society, and a few other small clubs. They have a wide variety of classes to take advantage of to develop a higher education. I would recommend Van Alstyne High School to anyone who wants this experience.

Denison High School
#5 Best Public High Schools in Grayson County
- Denison Independent School District, TX
- Rating 3.74 out of 5 176 reviews
Senior: Something that I liked about my experience at Denison High School was how much we get to be involved. There is always something going on like pep-rallys that the students get to have fun with and dances that everyone gets to come to and have a great night. I always had something to do here at DHS and I have loved every minute here.
While my time here was exciting and a time to remember, I would still like to see a few changes. The strict rules here tend to prevent students from being their best selves. Dress code is something that should be updated. The style has changed throughout the years but the code has been the same sense the school opened. I understand that there has to be certain restrictions but some things should be lifted.
Other than that small thing, the rest of my time here has been amazing. I have loved every teacher and class I got the chance to take.

Bells High School

- Bells Independent School District, TX
- Rating 3.86 out of 5 87 reviews
Alum: My experience at Bells High School was over 10 years ago, however, my 4 years with just the high school were nothing short of amazing! After attending K-8th grade at Bells, entering into high school was the highlight of my life as I got to see and be apart of so much. The academics on and off the sports fields met every standard for my life looking back over time. I'm very proud to say I graduated from such a wonderful school and anything I thought needed improvement years ago has been implemented to only make it the best!
