Alum: The best part of my experience would be the friends I have made throughout the years and some of the teachers and administration, they have been great at helping me stay on track and guide me. I did not really have a worst part, but there are a couple of teachers that just did not seem to want to be there and teach. My favorite teachers really went beyond to what they needed to to help me when I needed it. If I could change anything it would be the culture there, a vast majority of the kids just do not care and the adults do not seem to care that they do not care. Senior: Ocosta Jr/Sr High School is a located a small town and it is a small school but it is full of wonderful staff member's and great classes to take. Ocosta has teacher that truly care about you and your education, Ocosta doesn't have many kids but that is awesome because in such a small community everyone knows each other and people are closer. Ocosta Elementary even built a safe building to go to when a tsunami warring happens, it is safe and big enough to hit all the staff and kids. What I would like to see more in Ocosta is involvement, the younger kids are not getting involved in school activities and some kids are being left our of things so I would really love to see kids come together and join clubs and do thing they normally wouldn't do. Alum: During my years of education at Wishkah Valley School, I was very involved in different clubs and sports. For me, enrollment began in 5th grade, although I wish it would've been sooner. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from my teacher and felt very welcomed. Many educational and extra-curricular opportunities are available, including Associated Student Body, National Honor Society, a variety of athletics and special college preparedness. Because of the typically low-numbered classes, students can have the opportunity to receive 1-on-1 learning , which helps students succeed substantially. From the kind help of my teachers, coaches, staff, family and friends, I was blessed to be able to graduate from Wishkah Valley School as the Salutatorian of my senior class, graduate with Honors, and receive multiple scholarships for the next year as I started my college career. Niche User: The new administration that came in put a stop to bulllying, cussing and poor behavior. Then it created an almost whole new staff that were dedicated to filling in educational gaps as well as raising grades and gpas. Then, it secured a bond and levy that are bringing the buildings, programs and accessories up to code. Now, it is bringing in high quality sports coaches whose goals are to grow and add to the sports programs over time. This school is being talked about by other parents, students at neighboring schools and sports events.
