Senior: The Westminster Schools is a great institution for a high schooler's education. The teachers are great, the school spirit and athletic department is exceptional, and each student graduates fully prepared for college and a future career. It is not completely perfect, however. Diversity is not the best at Westminster from a percentage standpoint, and it does not seem that much is done about it. The school also puts each student under intense pressure to succeed, which has caused many burnouts by junior year. Although they have the Wellness Center for emotional support, nothing of substance is done to prevent the overwhelmingly large amount of students that cannot sustain the unnecessary intensity of this school. Finally, the performing arts program is greatly under-resourced and is in need of better facilities (classrooms, music stands, instruments, etc.) Westminster is a great school overall, providing students with a brilliant education, with some flaws.... Parent: My girls have been in FSA for 4 years and just started their high school journey. This is an amazing school with great academics, engaging faculty and administrative team, and wonderful hardworking students. It’s also a super safe environment where all culture and diverse background are celebrated and cohabiting harmoniously. Academic competition does exist but in a friendly and positive manner. My girls constantly review and study with their friends prior to tests and exams. Students also share notes, learning tips, and even offer to help their classmates on subjects they have advanced knowledge of. The school is also working really hard on sports teams and trying to expand the art program. Student clubs and leadership opportunities are abundant and academic competition is a must for everyone. Parent: Our children graduated in 2016 & 2018 & AIS keeps on giving! They have a great network of friends and connections all around the world. It's true that the IB curriculum is challenging but (& this is unusual) the entire school follow it, not just an elite few, so the level of IB expertise, resource and support is unparalleled. There are myths about the language programs, you really don't need to be a linguist! Ours had no 2nd language when they joined, one finished with a bilingual IB Diploma, another took standard level for DP. AIS prepared our kids well for universities in the US and abroad & the school gave us all a really interesting, supportive community. Parent: We currently have three children at Pace Academy and they are each having an excellent yet unique experience. The school takes academics seriously, and also throws massive athletic and other opportunities their way (clubs, stage shows, community projects, travel etc). They have all discovered new things they love directly though Pace. Character is a priority. They are learning to take responsibility and advocate for themselves. They are learning how it feels to be stretched. We have not yet experienced college counseling, but based on how well Pace prepares kids for whatever division is coming next, I feel pretty good about stepping into that soon. Somehow they manage to make sure the kids fully embrace and love the stage they are at in the moment, while also getting them totally prepared for what is coming next. Parent: This is our family’s fifth year at Lovett, and we couldn’t be happier with the education that our children are receiving at this special school. The faculty is outstanding and dedicated, including in the fine arts. The curriculum is rigorous, forward thinking, and innovative. Junior: The educators are patient and make the working environment positive, there is a nice school spirit as well. Many of the teachers are flexible and will cater the student's needs with extra help sessions, recovery and test correction opportunities. The school allows a 30 minute time period in the school day as a study hall and offers diverse activities. The school offers a large variety of courses and provides students with the all necessary amenities which make the learning experience more interactive. In addition, many extra curricular activities are offered such as clubs and sport teams. The school's campus is comfortable and easy to navigate through with multiple buildings. Senior: I have attended Johns Creek High School for all four years. This school has helped me find my closest friends, my career path, and my dream college. This school has a plethora of amazing teachers with many different specialties. Johns Creek offers a wide range of classes and opportunities that mostly suits everyone's needs no matter what they might be. If I could change a couple things about Johns Creek High School, I would add in an architecture program. I would add this program because that is what I have decided to pursue in my college education and I have many friends that would also like to pursue the same thing. I would also add a more guided college path for students like me who struggled to figure out where to start when it came to applying for colleges, applying for scholarships, and picking a suitable major. Parent: I’ve been an AGS parent for about 5 years, with my oldest daughter starting in 6th grade (now entering 10th) and my youngest daughter coming in one year later for 6th grade (entering 9th). This is a wonderful community for both my girls and me. Academically, they have excelled, and I think that’s because most teachers work quite hard to make concepts relatable and non-formulaic, but also because they make themselves available to students to come for targeted assistance. The school and grade classes are quite small, which I believe aids in the school’s ability to meet each girl’s needs. There is also a warm sense of community at AGS! From parent gatherings to annual school events to cheering on the girls who play sports, there’s always a way to connect with other families and support the school and students. Alum: Milton High School is the epitome of a truly well-rounded high school experience. The administration advertises the school as a "triple-A school," claiming the equal presence of Arts, Academics, and Athletics. As a student, I can confirm this is an extremely accurate description. I participated in the chorus program all four years, took high-level and superb quality academic courses, and competed with the equestrian for four years as well, acting as captain for two of those years. In my spread across different realms of the school, I am not unique as there are plenty of students who do the same. Our oldest (who can be an overachiever) keeps working to achieve the "advanced" description. Our youngest (who can be comfortable doing the minimum) can see how to keep working and stretch. From a community standpoint, we love that MV values diversity of thought, backgrounds, and experiences. Our children are learning to find connections and celebrate differences. Parent: Our family moved to the Atlanta area in February of 2021. We have 8 children and had been homeschooling for a variety of reasons before the move. Finding a school with a vibrant Catholic culture as well as a challenging academic atmosphere was critical to us as we considered the next step for our family . We were also hoping for a school that would prioritize the classical approach to education. We researched, visited schools, and finally landed at Holy Spirit Prep. We have been thanking God ever since! We have four children at the school now. They entered the system as 9th, 6th, and 2nd graders as well as a pre-k 4! Senior: I love Cambridge High School. The interaction among students, faculty, staff and others to include volunteers is outstanding. When I initially began as a Freshman, I had a slight fear. Alum: Though the students weren't the best (in fact, I often isolated myself because I felt I didn't "fit in"), the staff and faculty were the most supportive bunch of people—some of the best ones I've had in my life. Sophomore: Grady is a great school academically! It has good diversity and a lot of the teachers work really hard to help the students succeed. There is a fairly large divide in socio-economic class as well as race. Most of the students are driven and motivated and care about their studies!
