Alum: I loved plainview! The sports, the band, the clubs, the teachers, the staff, everything about it. In our county Plainview is know to be for “the rich kids” or “preppy kids” or “stuck up kids” if you ask anyone from the county that doesn’t attend Plainview. In reality that’s what makes Plainview so great. Everyone looks down on us and in that case it makes the whole school come together as one. We learn when we are little no other school can tolerate us and that just makes us form some type of special family bond. Senior: Sylvania High School is a small school in the small of Sylvania. The best part of me being at the school is that the teachers are always looking to help you in every situation. It being personal or in school problem. The school will help out the family in need. My worst experience here are just some kids can be rude and disrespectful, but that is not the school's fault. Something will change about the school is how sometimes the internet is slow. Other than that, I will not change anything else of the school. Senior: Fyffe High School has some amazing teachers. My experience at Fyffe has been a rollercoaster; however, all schools have their ups and downs. Everyone has bad experiences with people; they can either learn from it or run from it. With this in mind, learning and growing from an experience help someone grow as a person. Junior: I have attended Valley Head High School since Kindergarten, and my experience has gifted me a sense of family and connectedness. This is a 1A school, but we make up for being small incredibly well. We do extremely well within clubs like National Beta, in sports considering our size, and friendliness. I have seen a few accounts of 'bullying' but never extreme, and any issues between students are resolved quickly. I have also noticed that people who transfer here happen to love it and describe it as better than their previous school. We are very welcoming and the teachers are very understanding. I think the downside of our school falls under academics. While we have amazing teachers, we do not have any AP classes. I think this could be changed and make the school stronger.... Junior: This is a very tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone. Despite it being a small school, there are many opportunities at Ider, like being able to complete college courses through Northeast Alabama Community College's Dual Enrollment program. Senior: Very great teachers! I participated in AP courses and I feel I am ready to take on college! The building is very old, but is currently being worked on. Junior: My experience at Fort Payne High School has been pretty insane due to many things that have been going on at school. Some of the best experiences I’ve had at that school are probably the events that we would have in school, which make school more fun, and also being able to have good relationships with teachers at that school. But the worst experience I’ve had at that school was probably my freshman year. I had a hard time socializing with others due to social anxiety, but over time I started to slowly become more social so that I would be able to make friends throughout the year. And lastly, a change that I would like to see is probably how others are treated. The school environment can be good, but there are times when it can be bad. There are people who get picked on just because they don’t know English or because of who they are. But hopefully, one day, that’ll change so that others can feel more comfortable at school.... Alum: I attended this school and so have my children. This school is so very important to me. The school has always been an integral part of the community and everyone feels like family. Senior: I have went to Crossville my whole life and I think it is a very good school based on academics. The sports program lack a little bit but that is because many kids get down upon the fact that the school doesn't win many games which makes them not want to play. I however played a sport myself, and have seen the work it takes to become a good athlete and have had the honor to work with some very good coaches and teachers that have help me along my journey as a Crossville lion and for that I am thankful.... Parent: Cornerstone offers a safe happy learning environment for all the children. You’ll feel confident that your child is well cared for while there and given the best education in the area. They take their no bullying policy very seriously, which in today’s society, I am thankful for. The class sizes are small so each student can have the time they need with their teacher. Tuition is expensive for the average household in this area. I understand running a private school isn’t cheap, however, I do wish it were more affordable and/or that there were financial aide options available to assist with tuition costs.
