Versailles High School
#2 Best Public High Schools in Darke County

Senior: I am proud to consider Versailles, OH my hometown. However, I am more ecstatic to say I will be graduating from Versailles High School. As a senior, I have dealt with many high school teachers and I will not hesitate to say that each one shows concern and support. The teachers see potential in students and prepare them for not only college, but also for life after school. Even though Versailles encourages students to join clubs and athletic teams to get more involved with the school and community, I would change the way VHS welcomes new students. Versailles students have been together since grade school, so sometimes-new faces can be overwhelming. There are students that will step out and make new students feel welcome, but it is not easy to convince the entire high school to do the same. Overall, Versailles High School has been a great place to go to school. Considering all the support from teachers, coaches, staff and classmates, I would not have wanted to attend anywhere else.

Ansonia High School
#3 Best Public High Schools in Darke County
- Ansonia Local School District, OH
- 26 reviews
Senior: I am very proud to have been a student at Ansonia for my whole life. I've always felt safe, accepted, and well educated. Whenever I hear kids from other schools talk about how they hate everything at their school, it makes me even more proud of mine. There is a very good balance between work and fun inside and outside of the classroom. They are also very involved in the community. Since we are a small rural, I feel like there isn't as much focus on the arts programs. It feels like the athletics are catered to more than the arts programs. However, over the past couple years, there has been a few improvements to this problem. Overall, I firmly believe that Ansonia is one of the best educational facilities around.

Arcanum High School

Junior: As a junior at Arcanum High School, I feel ready for college and connected to my small class. I took 2 college classes my sophomore year and am currently taking 5 college classes this year. Most of the kids in my class have been here since kindergarten with me, we have grown up together. At Arcanum, I never see an unfamiliar face. It's a very comforting feeling to know everyone.

Franklin Monroe High School
- Franklin Monroe Local School District, OH

Senior: My experience with Monroe High School has been pretty good the past couple of years, the teachers are very involved with their students. The only thing I would change is that they haven't really helped me be prepared for College, I've done all my college research on my own. Our Guidance Councelor's aren't as involved than they should be. The only time they are there to help is if you ask them, I honestly think everyone grades 11 and 12 should have monthly/bimonthly meetings with them just so they have a clue what our plans for the future are and can help us out.

Mississinawa Valley Junior/Senior High School
- Mississinawa Valley Local School District, OH
- 19 reviews
Senior: I liked that it was a small school, so everyone knew everybody. You get one-on-one instruction from teachers who really care about the success of their students. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of technology the school had to offer. Most schools are far more advanced in this area.

Greenville Senior High School
- Greenville City School District, OH
- 80 reviews
Senior: My experience at Greenville Senior High School was one that will always have an impact on my life. I've made friendships that will last forever, grew relationships with teachers that I'll always remember, and learned so much. Greenville Senior High School is a great place to learn, play, and grow. The school is filled with great organizations, people, and learning tools.
One aspect that I feel needs work at Greenville Senior High School would have to be student involvement in the community. The high school puts on a handful of community service events for students in different clubs, but I feel that more could be done in the community. I loved my time in the Greenville school system and had a hard time thinking of things to improve in the system. I will never forget the memories made in my high school years.

Bradford High School
- Bradford Exempted Village School District, OH
- 11 reviews
High School Junior: My school is very, very small. I've been with the same people since kindergarten. It's preschool through 12th grade, so everyone knows everyone. This is not a bad thing, in my opinion. Small schools allow teachers to really get to know their students and care about their success in and out of the classroom.
What I really like about my school is the teachers' willingness to listen to your ideas and that the faculty actually try to make things happen, instead of just brushing students' ideas off. I like my school well enough, it's certainly not the worst around. If I had to choose a school in the area to go to, I would choose Bradford again. It's not so bad.
