Alum: The best thing about the school is the clubs that one can join. Sports are significant for this school therefore being a part of a sports team is always rewarding. also getting rewarded for grades and achievements at graduation is always lovely. The downside is some of the teaching programs, for example, I took two years of Spanish and never learned anything. Junior: I have been attending the West Memphis school district for my whole academic career. This school has given me lifelong friendships and life lessons. The school is very diverse, so you meet everyone from different backgrounds and cultures. The school offers a wide variety of classes and clubs. The staff takes care of the kids in the school and treats them as if they were their own. West Memphis school district is big on grades and involvement. Niche User: The ongoing experience at the Academies of West Memphis has been more then one can bare.We have gotten a new principle that is for the students and not the teachers.The reason being is that it will somehow make it more efficient to learn.Also the most memorable experiences of the school year has been our spirit week. Our spirti week is to show off the school spirit throught our grads.In such hopefully winning the spirit stick that took me 2 years to get while attending Academies of West Memphis. Not forgetting the uniquest of our school is revolved around sports ,which allows us to get in all games free with our school id ,but the bad students can also attend if only they have taken the task of cleaning up.... Parent: My son has been at Weaver since Pre-K. It’s been a learning experience for me as I am a first time parent. I’ve had concerns since Pre-K with the traffic on Barton. I would like to see the school board take this area more seriously. My son is now in 4th grad and I’m seeing the same problems with traffic. The faculty tries to resolve this issue and people ignore them and the cones. I’ve seen this for myself. I feel what’s needed is police security and presence. It shouldn’t take a fatality for this to happen. I’ve personally gone to the police station and voiced my complaint. Weaver has a terrific staff and I wouldn’t trade schools.
