Senior: Overall, I think the teachers are very engaging. There are lots of clubs and sports available fore students, and I personally have had a great experience in class and in clubs. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of a few school wide policies that I disagree with, but I understand that most of them are because of State legislation and not individual school board decision making.... Junior: At Kalama, I've experienced an overall positive environment where I have received my education. The small school offers the pros of an environment that is tight knit, easy to communicate with teachers, and is fairly hands on. Class ratios can be anywhere from 16-30 students and offers a slow pace that each student has the opportunity to directly communicate with teachers at any time when help is needed. The environment allows students to create reliable relationships with teachers who mentor students to prepare for post highschool pathways. The negatives of attending the school include lack of advanced classes that provide opportunities for certain fields of study, low student life, dispensary action is not acted upon when needed, lack of clubs, along with the lack of assistance with post highschool opportunities unless involved in the CTE programs.... Senior: The teachers at Mark Morris are absolutely incredible. Each and every one of them cares deeply about their students, and they do everything they can to make sure that we all succeed. There are many courses available that offer career preparation skills and even college credit. For those who are struggling with obtaining the food or clothing they need, Mark Morris readily distributes those necessities to such students. Mark Morris High School allows students to thrive and be the best person possible. The only criticism I have is, it would be nice if the facilities could be renovated/updated a bit. Senior: RAL, home of the lumberjacks, is one of the best schools in our district. And RA Long High School is ranked 110th in Washington. Teachers are friendly willing to help anyone who needs it. They are very understanding with students. Giving us consistent reminders of important things we have to do for a better teacher. Teachers pushing to be better than who you are right now and guide you all the way through. the only downside to the school is that they have bad food diversity. Alum: Toutle Lake is not just a school, it is a community. The entire town revolves around the school and the various activities involved with it. From sports, to clubs, to dances, to fundraisers, the entire town revolves around the school, just like many small towns. Very small class sizes and all grades K-12 being in the same place can be an odd experience for someone whom is not quite used to such atmosphere, but people will find that they will quickly fall into the effortless rhythm in no time. Over the years, I have formed relationships with the majority of the entire school and made many memories that I will carry with me as I expand my horizons.
