Central Columbia Senior High School
#1 Best Public High Schools in Columbia County
- Central Columbia School District, PA
- Rating 3.97 out of 5 156 reviews
Senior: For a small college town in rural Central PA that has two different school districts with two different High Schools, Central Columbia Area High School would not only compete with the larger wealthier districts, it would rank higher in almost every catagory. CCSD excels with its curriculum, staff, administrators, technology, resources, programs, athletics, extra-curricular activities, standardized testing scores, graduation rates, College acceptance rates, the arts, it's campus and it's safety. I moved to PA from NJ and only blossomed academically once starting middle school in the CCSD. In my previous school experience I struggled having great difficulty with all of my academic achievements and seemed to regress or stay stagnant instead of making clear improvements and steady progress that each school year should have prepared me to do. Immediately after starting in PA everything changed for the better! I am now an honor roll student who has been accepted to PSU! Thank you CCSD!

Southern Columbia High School
#2 Best Public High Schools in Columbia County
- Southern Columbia Area School District, PA
- Rating 3.48 out of 5 64 reviews
Senior: I had an above average experience at Southern Columbia High School. The teachers I met and interacted with were very knowledgeable and kind in their own unique ways. It's also a very accepting and diverse school for people to apply and join, with many clubs and activities to look into. The food could obviously need a little upgrading, but not everyone is ever going to love one thing. Another thing that could be improved is parent involvement all around for the school.

Senior: I have been a student at Bloomsburg Area High School for four years now, and I’ve rarely had the feeling that I was missing out on something that I could get at another school. The teachers are more than competent and are always willing to help students. Although the facility is somewhat dated, the building is currently undertaking several construction projects that will improve it’s appeal. I think the best thing about BHS is the student culture. Because it’s a small school, everyone knows their classmates well. The small class sizes allow each student to feel part of the BHS community. In the future, I’ll be proud to say that I graduated from such an awesome and welcoming school!

Parent: I can’t say enough good things about this school. The administration and teachers at both the main school and the Learning Center are excellent! They care about each and every one of the students and are very knowledgeable and qualified for what they do/teach. Be a part of a small school is like having a big family. Sure there are drawbacks not having more clubs, sports, extra curricular activists. However, for any of those programs that are offered, the coaches, teachers, and parents give 100% making them top notch. The kids not only learn so much through these programs, they also form special bonds with their peers. I have had 3 children attend this school, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of education they are receiving. I feel they are well taken care of, watched over and kept safe. Also, the kids who graduate from here have proven to be very successful in all aspects of life.

Senior: CMAVTS isn't just a school, it's one big family. Everyone involved here is all about the school and the students, making sure everyone is safe and happy. In my time at CMAVTS there was never a time where I felt unsafe or unhappy and I have the entire staff to thank for that. I will forever be grateful for the entire CMAVTS family as joining the family was the best decision I ever made.

Millville Area Junior/Senior High School
- Millville Area School District, PA
- Rating 3.82 out of 5 34 reviews
Senior: Millville Jr./Sr. High School has a multitude of Pros and Cons, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives! Millville offers a familial vibe. Due to the surrounding areas that have smaller populations, it is easier to adjust to the people in the close-knit community and offers tight-knit friendships.
