Alum: Muscle Shoals High School is an overall wonderful school that I will always look back on endearingly. The teachers were so helpful and pointed me towards success. The best part of my high school experience would be having opportunities to take early college courses and be able to work at my job comfortably, knowing that the school will still support me as I work to provide money for myself and my family. I also met my lifelong friends at Muscle Shoals High School, and I am thankful everyday that I was lucky enough to befriend them. The worst experience would have to be taking chemistry. The course was not set up for everyone and I had a difficult time handling that class. The only change I would want to see at Muscle Shoals High School would be a more diverse group of students. I know that cannot be changed unless there were to be a more diverse population, but I would love to see it someday. Senior: Excellent school for a more intimate educational environment. Because of our small size we are able to be friends and family. However, also due to our smaller size, the academic expectations of excellence are much higher than at other schools within the area, we do have some of the highest test scores in our county. Senior: I have been a student at Colbert Heights High School for five years, and I can confidently say that my time here at this school will be forever cherished. The overall atmosphere at my school is very inclusive and encourages every student to get involved in some way; whether it be in sports, clubs, or student governments. While attending Colbert Heights, I made friends that I am almost certain will last for many years to come. Along with the impact the friendships I have made during high school have had on me, I have also had many positive experiences with many of my teachers. These teachers have taught me how to never give up when faced with difficulties, strive to be the best version of myself and achieve greatness even if the road to getting there is not easy. Now, I am in no way saying that Colbert Heights is perfect because there are things that could be improved. Alum: This is a very diverse school with many diverse and unique teachers. There are many ways to get involved and pump-up your school spirit. Although Deshler has a lot of great attributes there are some things that I would change. For example I feel that this school is not the best at preparing you for college unless you are on the advanced diploma and I think that they are not the best about encouraging and informing the underclassmen about dual enrollment opportunities that could possibly save them thousands of dollars in college and push them ahead years in college.... Parent: Love our little school on the bluff. Sheffield has some of the best teachers and administration I have ever seen. I love that we are all family and all work together for the kids. I always feel like I can talk to any teacher and any administrator with any concerns regarding my kids , it is not ignored and put as a priority. We are so blessed to have Sheffield City Schools. Works Here: I am privileged to have experienced this school as a student, a parent and an employee. The school is small, but clean and welcoming. We do a wonderful job of offering students different options, including career tech classes in agriculture, welding and fire science; as well as, duel enrollment classes for those that are college bound. Works Here: Cherokee Elementary has been my place of employment for 18 years. It is located in a very rural area and has tremendous community support from both parents and local businesses. The faculty and staff are very loving, caring and play a important part in the lives of each student! My three children attended Cherokee Elementary. As a parent, I knew my children loved their teachers and loved learning. I knew my children were in a save environment and would be treated fairly. Parent: I went to this school when I was a child and now my own child is attending. I really like the faculty and staff. They are all very nice and helpful. The playground is wonderful. I can watch my daughter playing at the end of the day while waiting in the car line to pick her up. She loves going to school to see her friends and she loves her teacher. Parent: We absolutely love Threadgill. The Principal,teachers, cafeteria,music,art,library,P.E., and all staff are so involved in our children’s lives. I also love how the PTO is so involved and all the parents are welcome to help! My child has went up 400 points on her reading due to the extra help of STIC in the afternoons that is offered for free!
