Junior: Scholarship, Community, and global responsibility, thats what Vermont Commons is about. A small school, about 100 students and 25 faculties, that is college prep highly focuses on hands on learning and adapting to different learning styles. The ratio of students to teacher makes it so that students can get help easily. Because the school goes from 6th -12th grade it is very common to see juniors and senior being friends with the middle schoolers. The school also focuses on leadership, so there are many many opportunities when a student can lead other students and where their options matter heavily for example the student body government. Students with all different personalities, goals, and needs are met here in Vermont Commons School. But since the school belongs in a small state that people mistakenly think is in Canada, diversity is especially poor.... Read 15 reviews

Senior: I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at South Burlington High School. Overall, I received a well-rounded, thorough education, though I think I could have learned more about things like personal finance that are necessary to be a good adult. The teachers and administration are so kind and helpful, and it felt like I was supported through my four years inside the building. I wish I had participated in more school-wide events because I missed out on the South Burlington family. I met some of my best friends here, and I have so many good memories of having fun and learning. The AP curriculum is wonderful, and there are a variety of courses for all of your interests, including a robust visual and performing arts curriculum. Senior: I love the students at MMU. The students are so passionate about the school. We have so many extracurricular activities jam-packed with passionate students. Each club has a mix of students, there are no jocks, nerds, or any defined social groups or hierarchies. You can find volleyball players in the musical, and Drama kids in the student council. The passion I've seen from my fellow club members is inspiring. Junior: The food at CVU is amazing. Every teacher I have had is very accommodating, friendly, and good at their job. CVU is not very diverse but it is Vermont so that is to be expected. CVU could of done a better job preparing students for college, or at least the college admissions process. Building off of that, I feel that they could of done a better job laying the foundation for students to plan for college, reach target GPA, take harder classes, prep for test, etc. The guidance consolers at CVU are amazing people who know what they are doing. There is over 100 clubs at CVU and there is something for everybody. CVU is very heavy on literature and humanities, but they are making it a goal to offer more STEM classes, or at least AP stem classes. Overall, the experience at CVU is unrivaled and I am very privileged to attend such a school. I have had no problems with safety, finding clubs, getting involved, and failing to find help. Works Here: The teachers and the community offered at Rice are top-notch! The advantage of a smaller school is that it allows the teachers to truly customize the learning for each individual. I like that they still use textbooks in classes and still expect students to do homework. Plus I feel that Rice gives students opportunities they wouldn't have elsewhere - competitive athletics, field trips, music and art programs, lots of extracurriculars. It's worth considering.... Junior: I've had a great experience at Colchester High School! Teachers here a very supportive and passionate about what they teach, making for an engaging and collaborative class environment. We are given plenty of opportunities to take challenging and rigorous courses, but we also have great academic support centers. Here, school pride, or as we like to call it "Laker Nation" is second to none in VT, creating extremely fun and lively spirit weeks and sports games. We are very much an athletic school, being that there are so many teams and clubs for students to join. Parent: My three children attend Lake Champlain Waldorf School, and we have been so pleased with their education and the community. Middle School Student: SCS is the school that I have attended since Kindergarten, and now I am in 7th grade. This school has gone through many changes, including a multi-million dollar grant to renovate the roofing, middle school wing, and many other things. My experience at this school has been good over the years, but they really did us in by switching the middle school to 5-8 and jumbling everything up. Junior: As an upcoming Senior at this school I have chosen to change schools because of the community and just changes I've experienced at the school.
