Parent: My children attended Cologne Academy all the way from Kindergarten through 8th grade. It was a wonderful experience that left them well-prepared for high school. I also happen to be a staff member at Cologne Academy, and I have been there for 13 years. The administration is supportive of staff and holds us to high standards. Senior: My experience at Holy Family has, for the most part, been extremely positive and has taught me many things besides just academics. Although I've faced many challenges getting accustomed to the high school life, Holy Family has taught me so many unforgettable things. I learned how to make new friends, work well with others, be a great team player, be a leader, think outside the box, and so many other pieces of knowledge. In my first year at Holy Family, I was welcomed with open arms into the school by not just the teachers but also many of my fellow students that would soon become my friends. The exciting sports programs coupled with the fun and engaging classes had brought us closer during that year and they also showed me that I belonged at Holy Family. Senior: Overall this school is very good. On the academic side, it is very good with teachers who actually care about what they teach and the students they are teaching. The Biblical teaching here is also very good. It is definitely not in your face like many Christian schools are stereotyped, but taught in a way that is meaning full and helpful to guide students toward a lifelong relationship with God. Although the environment is good, it is a much smaller school than your average school, but that is not a bad thing. The activities here are limited, but overall enjoyable experience. Sports are average at this school, but they have definitely shown upside these past few years, and with a new expansion on the way, they will make leaps towards more championships. Middle School Student: Chaska Middle School East is a good school. The staff members are very kind to students and challenge students appropriately based on their needs. There are some behavior problems in the school but students do get disciplined when necessary. Senior: Very little bullying, teachers are queer friendly, it's an easy process to get a 504 if you have a doctor's note, tons of clubs including a conservation club, theater, show choir, pit band and marching band, a bunch of sports including a swim team and united sports, spanish heritage club, International thespian society, and a bunch of others. The classes are fun, though they have been cutting some lately. I personally don't like how much more money they put into sports despite show choir and bands/choirs having far more trophies, they definitely seem to favor sports, though I guess that's good for some people.... Niche User: The PTO the past two years (2014-2015) has been led by committed, super smart parents. Pockets of parents are uber connected and committed. It's harder when you work outside of the home, but I am thankful for the parents that volunteer at the school, whether it's once or often. We have two children - one has been through Bluff Creek and one is currently at Bluff Creek. We feel super connected to the parents of the same gender / same grade level as our two kids, but not necessarily to the rest of the school-aged community. Works Here: Chaska Middle School West is an incredible school! PRIDE is evident in every aspect of the school. The teachers care deeply for the students. The administrators play an active, visible daily role in the running of the school. But, the main reason CMSE is amazing is the students. They show up ready to work hard each day. Alum: I loved how Watertown was a lot smaller than other schools and I was able to form small, but quality friends. I knew everyone in the grades above and below me and supporting everyone was so easy and heart warming. I played on the soccer team and throughout my four years, our team grew together and every sport used whoever they had; our sport matches were so fun to go to as we all cheered everyone on. Middle School Student: Pioneer Ridge is a great school! I love going there. All the teachers are super nice, and they do a good job of challenging you based on what you like to learn and what you need to improve. I like the options we have during WIN time because they can be fun or you can use the time to learn and study. It's a great balance of being challenging yet fun when they teach.
