Senior: From the moment I heard about the Early College when I was starting to plan for high school, I knew it was the right school for me. Going to a four year college has always been my goal, and as a first generation college student, my family wanted all the help they could get to send me there. The Early College prioritizes preparing students for college, career, and life, and as a student here I can say that they absolutely do that. All of the teachers are hands-on and willing to work with you to get what you need to get you where you need to be. While I’m nervous about graduating, I also feel confident in the plan I’ve made with help from my teachers and prepared for college in a way that my friends from traditional high schools have said that they didn’t feel. If you go to the Early College, your teachers will have your back every step of the way through high school and on your college journey. Senior: Caldwell Applied Science academy is a very satisfactory, well-organized, and positive school. From freshman year to senior year society has provided for my needs, when I struggle with my homework tutors were always available. The library is amazing, I personally have had a good experience they have computers where I can do my work, the staff members are really helpful. Freshman: I loved William Lenoir! I went into 6th at The Old William, I was nervous and excicted cause I was a middle schooler now. Loved school better than anything, My teachers(Ms. Mendoza, Mrs. Burns, Ms. Lankford, and Mrs. Horn),everything! When The New William was built I went into 7th, I loved it. Loved ALL My classes (Basics & Extras):Science!(Mr. Sides), Reading(Mrs. Woods), Math(Mrs. Watts), History!(Mr. Pickett),C.I.S.(Ms.Bean), P.E.(Coach Gragg), Chorus(Mrs.Reid!). Alum: There are tons of different classes and teachers suited for what you want to do later on in life or just to learn as a hobby. For example I took German and Band while being in many other clubs of my interest. I wouldn't change much about my high school as everyone with me felt like family. While having diversity of class choices, they also offer college classes. There are high levels of education that I took that kept me at my level of college readiness. Parent: A+ school, art is a big part of learning. Lots of Diversity in this school. Everyone is very friendly. Teachers work hard to accommodate thei students . Offer many musical classes, they prepare the children for the real world by giving them leadership positions and having them fill out applications for it. They also teach about safety and how to treat others if an unexpected death in the family happens. They have lots of spirit nights and come together as a family. Alum: The teachers really show Loe for their subjects and strive to better each student academically. Each teacher is educationally qualified for the job and students are always in good hands. The office is very helpful and are always smiling. Students attending this school will be going to the largest school in the county population wise. The school excels in baseball, softball, women's tennis, swimming, wrestling, and archery. The other programs lack in talent when compared to other 4A schools. The only true issue displayed is the unfair environment for athletes in men's baseball. The coaches will start the player with the most donations given or most personal connections to them. Meaning, athletes will go entire seasons without play just because they aren't financially capable of giving to the program. Senior: Freshman year was different then any other year. I had to attend during covid. Most was remote but when we attended school we had to only go for a few days had to wear mask. I wasn't able to participate in clubs and sports. It was a lonely time freshman year. Sophomore year was more fun but tragic. Made it to Regionals in swim and track. Painted a mural for art. My father sadly passed away in December. Leaving me to continue achieving good grades and excelling in sports while also dealing with grief. Junior year was good. Started taking AP courses and made it to regionals in swim again. During Track season made top 8 in the region for 100m hurdles.Now my senior year have improved a lot. I’m currently taking a college math course and practicing in cross country and about to start swim. Also learning how to pole vault. In my spare time after school I’ve been repainting my mural to make it better in my eyes. Ive become a student ambassador, apart of student advisory and of Mu theta Beta.... Read 149 reviews
