Bret Harte Union High School
- Bret Harte Union High School District, CA
Alum: There were several reason why I enjoyed my high school experience at Bret Harte. I involved myself in numerous extra curricular activities such as FFA, Circle of Friends, and also Friday Night Lights. However, despite my amazing time within these clubs, the academic classes that this school offered were prestigious among other schools in the area. While the classes contain a lot of work, the teachers are very invested in their students and really care about the hands-on training and success of everyone who walks into their classroom. Overall, the experience was not perfect because like every school, there are some teachers who are below par. However, in a general observation, the environment and staff is very positive and I would repeat high school if I could.

Junior: I have been a student at Mountain Oaks since I was eleven years old. I am now a junior (11th grade) and cannot express how much this school has helped me develop both academically and emotionally.
The classes tend to not be extremely detailed unless a student asks their instructor a question. If you give the class the attention it deserves and are motivated to ask questions, you will end the year knowing everything there is to know about whatever subject the course was about.
If you want to be an accomplished student you will be - as long as you put in the effort. Every mentor teacher here works hard to form a connection with each of their students and assure that they achieve whatever goals they have; each student is given the same opportunities.
I know that I will be graduating from Mountain Oaks next year with the ability to perform well in my college classes and know when to either push or retract myself.
