#5 Best Public Elementary Schools in Brown County
Leonardo Da Vinci School for Gifted Learners
Alum: this school prepared me pretty well for high school. thanks to friendly teachers and a relatively good teacher to student ratio, i found it really easy to connect with the staff. i found the homework load to be challenging, but i guess that's to be expected from a school for gifted learners. da vinci is a k-8 school with a small student body, so you typically have the same classmates for years. over time, they begin to feel less like peers and more like family :) overall, i found my academic and social experience to be very fufilling!
my only real issue is that there aren't really accommodations for different types of learning. i was always stuck in ELA classes that were higher than grade level, but lower than where i should've been. additionally, the special education accommodations were, to put it simply, really bad. i can't even count the amounts of times i've seen grown adults screaming at an autistic child having a meltdown....
overall though, the school is great!... Read 5 reviews
