Parent: The teachers we have spoken to have all seemed to really care about our children. The principal was outside the school every day welcoming all ages to school. Freshman: I have been enlisted at Alpena Schools since I was in kindergarten, and my overall experience has been pretty good. Sure I had a couple of rough patches through elementary, but who doesn't. One of the huge things about our school is that it is so small, and that is what a lot of people love about our school because you know everyone and you don't feel as awkward, because you don't feel like you are talking to a bunch of strangers, instead, you are talking to your family and that means a lot to everyone that goes to our school.... Senior: I love that Omaha HIgh school is a small school. Everyone knows everyone and it's just a big family. Teachers, counselors, and principles are extremely friendly and helpful. When it comes to needing help with assignments, getting caught up with homework, or if you're just having a bad day there is always someone who tries to help you out. The only things that I would change would be the school food, how things are organized, and communication could also use some work. Senior: I enjoy music and singing so I am part of Concert Choir and Chamber Singers. I used to play volleyball too. I like that the school allows students to be in in many sports and extra curriculars. We are also allowed to take college classes at North Arkansas College in our junior and senior year. We also have AP courses such as AP World History, AP Psychology, AP European History, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus. The school also allows students to create clubs. Right now, I am involved in Leo Club and Science Club, but there are also many other wonderful clubs such as FBLA, Art, and Key Club. Alum: Valley Springs High School is incredibly school for potentially great things to happen but lacks the necessary resources to achieve greatness. Academically ranking in the top schools in the state, it is the teachers and administrators as well as students that work hard for such high accolades. Unfortunately, because of the severe lack of resources, Valley Springs does not attract new student, nor does the community. The sense of community is outstanding, but only goes as far as its resources can take it, which isn't far enough. With a lack of potential for expansion, or rather an opposition to it, Valley Springs is a great school that will never be know for its outstanding facilities and unlimited resources.... Senior: Bible Baptist Christian School was a saving grace to myself. I personally would not have been able to be as academically focused or ready as I am now- if it had not been for the teachers and students here. BBCS is filled with kids that are raised to be caring, kind, and respectful. The teachers of BBCS are all extremely caring and helpful, they each have been there for myself and my family. They are each godly women that show the students how to act, and what a good Christian should be like. I enjoy being a student here.
