Alum: Choosing to attend a private school is a difficult decision, but Falmouth Academy was well worth every penny. I am a graduate of the class of 2007 and couldn't imagine a better middle school and high school experience. Academically, FA prepared me extraordinarily well for college - none of my college writing classes were anywhere near as difficult as rhetoric from senior year and the strong science and math classes at FA prepared me extremely well for my future operating nuclear reactors and sonar systems. More importantly, however, was that FA really let me grow to be comfortable with myself. I came to FA extremely introverted and insecure. FA encouraged my to try programs I'd have never considered before (drama, jazz, soccer, and lacrosse, and latin), and through these programs I grew quite a bit of self confidence and made lifelong friendships. Parent: My son attends the middle school, having pulled him from our (very good) public school where the class sizes were getting out of control. The individual attention and care he is given by his teachers is unparalleled- he has therefore flourished both socially and academically. The school is completely student-centered, and all students are made to feel important and seen. Junior: Sturgis has incredible teachers that love to be there and a strong academic community with a high emphasis on learning for everyone, no matter your background. There is a strong club culture at Sturgis, and whatever you want to do you can have the opportunity to do so! Senior: Nauset Regional High School is a wonderful high school from my experience there. More specifically, I have felt as though they handled Covid-19 regulations very well and were able to have students interacting again on campus much quicker than other school districts. The format of the campus allows students to spend time outside in between classes given subject courses take place in different buildings. This layout provides for a great atmosphere. Additionally, I have had the privilege of taking advantage of their dual enrollment program in which I have been able to take college courses at the Cape Cod Community College while still enrolled at the high school. This is my second school year in the dual enrollment program, and I feel as though it has provided me with a lot of opportunities and experiences I would not have had if at a different high school. Senior: I’ve been at TCA since 1st grade! Although it’s a small school, they always try to include everyone and make sure their voice is heard! Trinity has been amazing, especially during my college application experience. The attention and one-on-one time I received was so incredible and unique! One thing I would love to see though are more sports teams (although I know this may be hard since it is a small school) and maybe a specific coordinator to be in charge of events like the high school formal!... Senior: Falmouth High School has been a wonderful school to attend. There are a multitude of electives to choose from that I haven’t heard of any other high schools offering. They really make an effort to prepare everyone for the future, no matter what path they plan to take in life. In addition, the academic classes, no matter the difficulty, are made easy to understand by the competent teachers, and every student is able to receive the workload that is right for them. The guidance counselors are also incredibly helpful, especially so when students need assistance with their college readiness. This year we have a new principal who is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He is incredibly enthusiastic to be here, which has created a wonderful atmosphere in our school this year.... Senior: I generally like my school a lot. We have a diverse study body and faculty, and it's on the smaller side so we have relationships with teachers and for my grade, we all know each other. I've had the same friends my entire time in this school, and they make the experience so much more fun. Obviously since it's high school there were plenty of ups and downs, but I made the best of it. I participated in and attended many different school events, which helped make my experience very optimistic at this school. There were a few rule changes that some people weren't happy about, but they were things that the administrators had to do so it didn't really affect me or my opinion about the school. Senior: Our school has a kindred spirit and we are fortunate to have a collaborative group of passionate teachers and staff who want the students to feel safe, noticed and empowered to get a great education. We have a variety of classes that offer something for everyone. There are many clubs that allow us to get involved in our community and with causes we believe in or as ways to make new friends. Senior: Honestly, Barnstable High School is probably on the better end of schools around Cape Cod. On the lowest level is probably DY- but nobody talks about it anymore or not as much as say Falmouth district. Because of this, I'm not too concerned with attending Barnstable. It is simply mediocre. We have had some bad downfalls; fights breaking out, bad teachers, bad food outbreaks etc. Yet at least, my sad, but fairly casual experience, wasn't labeled as one taken at our rivals- DY and Nauset. I liked the opportunities we had, as we were probably the school with the most arts programs, diverse clubs, and creative options regarding electives- but we were totally not stinky and DY. This is why I like not being stinky (like our rivals) and always at loss with Barnstable High's sports teams. Barnstable is cool I guess.... Read 188 reviews

Middle School Student: My experience with Lawrence was very good, all though I was only there for my 7th grade and it was cut short due to Covid-19. There are only enough good teachers for one team. The enrichment program is very engaging and the sports are very good, I wish they had a Hockey team though. The kids who complain about the dress code clearly have never wore a suit and tie to school, it really isn't that bad. The way the staff handle bullying and other situations, although it doesn't happen often, is very good. The lunch and food was very good. Senior: Being a student at Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School was a neat experience. There is a great amount of school spirit, or as they like to call it, DY Pride!
