Ashland High School
- Ashland City School District, OH
Senior: The best part about Ashland High School is the teachers. Most teachers genuinely want their students to succeed, and they do everything they need to in order to ensure this. The science, math, and music departments are especially good. Throughout my four years in high school, I participated in many different sports and clubs, all with great coaches, teammates, advisors, and members. This enabled me to pursue various passions as well as discover new interests and meet new people. Without these opportunities, my time in high school would have been much different.
In terms of the school itself, Ashland prepared me well for college and the rest of my life. While I challenged myself with a more rigorous course load, I was always able to get help when needed. The classes that I took certainly aided me in terms of standardized testing, and my scores always reflected the hard work I put in and the quality instruction I received.

Loudonville High School
- Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District, OH
Alum: Loudonville High School is a pretty typical small-town school. Some of the teachers are great (particularly in the science division), most are pretty good, and the rest are a bit forgettable. It's pretty average over all, but, if you work hard, you can do just as well as students who come from bigger schools. It would be nice if LHS offered more AP courses, but I think they probably do what they can with the budget they have.

Black River High School
- Black River Local School District, OH
Senior: Black River has given me the necessities in order to exceed. The faculty at Black River are outstanding and extremely helpful. My favorite quality about this school is that it is very tiny so you make long-lasting relationships with people, and the teachers. For instance, I had Mrs. Dieter all four years of high school. She has taught me Honors English 9, Honors English 10, and college credit plus courses like Child Development, Introduction to Education, Early Childhood Curriculum Methods, and Theory of Guidance and Play. However, with the limited population of people, we are not a diverse school. Majority of the school is Caucasian females and males, including teachers. I believe that diversity is a great opportunity to explore multicultural heritages. I am involved in several activities and I believe that we should have more! Black River offers numerous clubs and organizations like HUDDLE, SADD, Student Council, Chess Club, Anime Club, FCCLA, Yearbook, Journalism, and many more.

Hillsdale High School
- Hillsdale Local School District, OH
Alum: Hillsdale is a small public school with a very welcoming environment. I went to school there since kindergarten and I had the best experience. It's a small school which makes it great for student teacher interaction. The school staff cares about each student and there are so many school activities to get involved in.

Mapleton High School
- Mapleton Local School District, OH
Junior: I have always gone to Mapleton and it is a great school! It is a very rural school with a lot of farmers and down home people. If you love knowing everyone in your school, then this is the school for you! All the students, teachers, and staff are great and you honestly know everyone by first name. But, if you like a lot of diversity and clubs/organizations you might want to keep moving. Being in small town America, the school lacks many minority groups. Also, with it being such a small school it is hard to fund many organizations and sports. The football team is definitely favored more over every other sport offered even though we are division 7 and terrible... But, overall, I think this school is a great place to go!
