Aldo Leopold Charter School
Senior: My experience at Aldo Leopold charter school has been, more than anything, wonderfully eye opening. As first public school I had attended after homeschool and a small private school, it was an excellent way to integrate myself into academics, community, and the world of environmentalism. There are very few complaints I have from my time here, however, being a small school, there is naturally a lack of of extracurricular opportunities other than a few unofficial clubs. This is also partly due to the lack of state funding, but I do think that there could be more effort put into organization and communication. There have been important announcements regarding trips or events that were missed due to lack of communication, as well as miscommunications about rules and regulations which have resulted in unnecessary write ups or detentions. Aside from a few minor drawbacks, the opportunities for stepping outside my comfort zone with backpacking, theater, and social events are unforgettable.... Read 11 reviews
