Senior: Sayre has amazing teachers who are dedicated to educated their students. Learning does not stop when you walk out of the classroom. Weekly, I get an email from a teacher with various resources about a topic that was asked about in class. A majority of the students take their education very seriously, and this provides for a very intellectually stimulating environment. Many projects are assigned to groups, which helps build communication and teamwork skills. Another key perk of Sayre is its well-roundedness. At some schools, one department will be great, but other departments may lack the needed resources. At Sayre, all the departments are top-notch. This allows students to focus on the area of their choosing, not what the school chooses for them. The main reason I love Sayre is the staff's wiliness to bring student's ideas to life. Senior: Paul Laurence Dunbar High School is a great environment for high school students. The teachers care about the students and leading them to success. The faculty takes care of students who apply for free/reduced lunch and make sure they get just as many opportunities as the wealthier students at the school. One downside to Paul Laurence Dunbar High School is the amount of fights that have taken place, especially within this past year. The administrators have made sure to address these fights with consequences in order to reduce the amounts of fights at school and keep students safe. One good aspect of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School is the variety of clubs. The school has a great amount of clubs, including Dunbar Culture Society, FCCLA, Senior Executive Board, and so much more. Junior: Lafayette high school hands so many options and opportunities to those who look and work hard for them!I can’t wait to finish school knowing I went to Lafayette, had such amazing teachers and friends.Having all of the experiences they offered me.They have never disrespected or disappointed me they have amazing teachers that will help you take the right steps to reach your dreams and goals. Sophomore: I love Henry Clay! I'm currently a sophomore here, and there's so much excitement every day. Every staff member in the building always makes sure you have what you need, and that you feel safe while you're in the building. There's so many clubs/ sports, surely everyone can find one that interests them. My only problem with H C is the size. WAY to crowded for the amount of kids. Everyone is in the hallway and there's no elbowroom whatsoever. AC is constantly out, and i have friends have to move to different classrooms throughout the day because their room was unusable. The funding for this school stretches and still isn't enough. There are too many kids at Henry clay; and the budget cannot accommodate. H C definitely needs upgrades. Besides the school building itself, the faculty are all so sweet, and the students are welcoming. H C is definitely the place to be if you want to learn in a lively, fun environment!... Senior: The academics are phenomenal. Some of the teachers truly care about the students and their successes. However, some teachers are very inexperienced and do not know the content they are teaching. The core values of Lexington Catholic are a very attractive part of the Catholic school education, however, sometimes they can get in the way of students well-being, education, and experience. Parent: Wonderful learning environment. Very welcoming and respectful staff. We couldn't be happier! I would love for their to be more family engagement activities but the school is always trying new ways to partner more effectively with families. My favorite part of LCA is the small class size, athletic opportunities, and the experience staff and administrators. Sophomore: My experience at Steam Academy was very beneficial to my education. Steam participated in Project Based Learning (PBL) which allowed students the freedom to fully research topics and get experience presenting to large crowds. We worked on a semester-based schedule so that we could complete our high school core classes in half the time and during the first semester of our Junior year we would begin college classes and internships. This allowed us the opportunity to either intern in workplaces and earn our associate's degree. Not only is the education amazing, but the community is as well. We rarely had any bullying problems at Steam and once they occurred they were dealt with accordingly. Senior: Overall, my experience at Woodford County High School has been very good! While our building may be very, very lacking, we make up for it with the quality of teachers and overall education. When there is no COVID, there is a very strong sense of school spirit, from the Spanish teachers serving free coffee during finals last year to the competition for the spirit stick during spirit week. Sophomore: My experiences in West Jessamine High School have been filled with memories that are unforgettable. The facility and staff along with the teachers are very caring and responsible, taking care of the students and helping them in need. In the schools there are many ways to share your personal troubles with the councilors but your teachers are also accepting to help you with that field as well. WJMS is a great high school not only in mental health but also in academics, They are willing to help you in every way possible. There are many tutors in the school who are willing to teach you in topics/lessons you are having trouble with. It is a place that has built my character and personality into a fine human being throughout the years and are willing to continue to do that until you have graduated. Senior: I am currently a senior at Scott County High School. The teachers that I have encountered on a daily basis have gone above and beyond to engage students, like myself, in the classroom. Especially since Covid has forced us to go virtual, my teachers still maintain my attention during Zoom meetings. Any extra help is continuously offered even after school is over-with. It's as if teachers are on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The coaching staff for the sports teams are amazing. With the extra help in my classes, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while participating in varsity football.
