Parent: We highly recommend The Storm King School for so many reasons! The small class sizes allow for an excellent learning environment and promote an optimal space for all to participate in discussions, which leads to be a better understanding of the topic. There is a plethora of course offerings, club options, and sports. The requirement of after-school activities was a plus for us as it encouraged our child to try new things and helped her to meet different students. Quest Term, at the end of the year, was one of our child’s favorite parts of the year, where she got to choose from a wide array of activities and truly experience ‘out of the box’ learning! The faculty and staff are an amazingly caring group of people that showed our child support in so many ways. And the chef met our child’s allergy needs and gave her a safe place to eat everyday! Junior: I gotta say this school is the most friendly school in U.S. They were always ready to listen to you whatever you need, and were always there to support what you lack or need. Everything was friendly and amiable. The kids who were sent here would have a great opportunity to grow into adults and have a better mindset. However, the rules in this school are harsh for students those who adores freedom, so they would feel suffocated firstly, but eventually adapted with it as I was. Senior: My overall experience at CCHS was very positive. One of the things that I loved was the vast amount of class options provided. For example, instead of taking music or art classes in my junior and senior years, I was able to take business and law classes. These classes appealed to me and made my time at CCHS much more enjoyable. I also loved the amount of school spirit. We were known as the "Cornwall Crazies" because the students went to every sports event, especially the football games, in outfits and costumes that resonated with a theme. We created chants from the stands that uplifted our players and acknowledged their skills. Unfortunately, there have also been a couple of fights each year, and many students vape in the bathrooms. Although the administration has tried to stop students from vaping, it has still negatively affected my time here. Parent: 3 of our children attend James I. O'Neill High School. All 3 got not only into their top choice college, but all of the colleges they applied to. Because the school population is low, students have numerous opportunties to partake in different sports, and activities that they may not have the opportunity to in a larger school district. Like any school, theirs good, bad, and ugly but it comes down to what you and your child are willing to put into it. Alum: I had an ok time at MW High School Most of the teachers are great and very understanding and flexible of your situation. The art department is incredible and the art teachers are absolutely fantastic!! Obviously, there are teachers that are not so good, but you could either transfer out or power through. I haven't had any major issues with the school, although they have barely any diversity when it comes to teachers, meaning most of the teachers in the school are white or some version of European.... Alum: My overall experience at Warwick Valley High School was very positive. The staff were almost always kind and dedicated to providing me with a top notch high school education. I was provided with multiple opportunities to study electives and other topics other than ordinary requirements that I was interested in. I also participated in clubs including National Honors Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and the Baseball team. These were some of the many opportunities for students to participate in. The Athletics Department also provided a large amount of support including access to a trainer who helped me get back to health in the wake of injury. Parent: Our children absolutely thrived at The Birch School last year. During the height of pandemic isolation our kids made deep connections with their teachers, the other students, and themselves. I never dreamed this would be possible during virtual learning! With the small class sizes, the unwavering presence of the teachers, the guiding philosophies of the school, the organization of the learning, and the magic of the children our kids feel like they've found their fit. Mutual value and respect has led the way for learning and growth. The ease in which my kids moved through this challenging past year is a testament to what The Birch School is doing. We had been in a different virtual program before we enrolled at Birch and to live the contrast is black and white. Once we began Birch our children lit up and kept on glowing.
