Senior: My experience at Park Tudor School has been filled with new personal connections, intellectual growth, and an emphasis on trying new things. The school requires 2 seasons of a sport, a fine arts class, and various other humanities and STEM requirements. These push me to approach education in an interdisciplinary manner, learning about history's application to technology and math's influence on creative writing. The teachers at PT support their students in any way needed. I have used many teacher office hours, asked for countless recommendations, and gotten exposed to new opportunities through them. The highlight of this school is the small knit community. My graduating class has 118 students all of whom know each other and every teacher very well. When walking down the halls I am familiar with all of the students and teachers providing a sense of community. Junior: The school has been nothing but extraordinary. It is one which gives a vast span academic rigor and the 11:1 student-faculty ratio gives an amazing opportunity for one-on-one student teacher time. The teachers and staffing do everything with student success in mind. Not only this, but there are many times throughout the day built in for students to meet with teachers in subject offices, complete homework or socialize. The school does an amazing job of providing a great balance between work and fun. With students constantly attending sporting events, club meetings and other school led activities, the different grade levels are able to interact. Also, it is not super religious. Students can participate in relies events at their choice. The school offers amazing scholarship opportunities and highly ranked athletic teams (2021-22 W. Volleyball, M. Soccer, M. Parent: I have a daughter in the Pre-K class and she absolutely loves it! Cornerstone Baptist Academy has a tremendous teaching staff this year. This is the best teaching staff they have ever had. They love the Lord, they love the students, there is now such a sweet spirit amongst the staff and student body. I highly recommend CBA to anyone with children in Pre-K through 12th grade. They have small class sizes which allows the teachers to spend quality time with each student, and allows them to know each student's name and it is a much closer-knit class that way.... Senior: In general, Herron High School is a wonderful place to get an education. The teachers all genuinely care about the students, and treat them as fellow people. Students are polite and spirited, and unique! There's so much diversity in these halls. The main issues are with communication- emails can be confusing and either too frequent or not frequent enough, scheduling is strange, and overall Herron is a very nontraditional school, which can work for some but definitely won't work for all.... Sophomore: The staff are tremendous people and they truly care about mental health and growing each student spiritually and mentally, not just academically. I LOVE my school. Schools often say they are a family, but with Roncalli, this is actually true. Every single person in the building would give anything to help each other. This past year, our opening school assembly talked about pulling each other and pushing each other to finish this school together. In addition, the academics are truly top notch. Roncalli recognizes the sacrifices parents make to send their children here, and they truly make the money worth it. I could not imagine attending any other high school. The athletics are also amazing, and the student body loves to support one another. As a current student, I LOVE this place and the Roncalli family, and would strongly recommend it to anyone undecided upon a high school. Senior: My experience with Herron Riverside has been both enlightening and challenging. One of the best parts of my journey has been the opportunity to learn and grow in ways I never anticipated. The knowledge and skills I've gained have been invaluable. Additionally, the people I've met along the way, including instructors, classmates, and mentors, have been incredibly supportive and have enriched my learning experience. Senior: During my sophomore year at public school, I decided to transfer to Heritage Christian School due to personal religious beliefs. Heritage is a small private school that prioritizes personal growth in not only general education, but also in faith. Although there are not quite as many opportunities in regards to college courses or GPA boosts, Heritage is working to expand their curriculum. Furthermore, I found that a slight GPA decrease was a worthy sacrifice to truly grow deeper knowledge. A 3-digit number does not dictate my full capacity of wisdom and understanding. Freshman: Franklin Central High School is a great school in terms of academics. There are many teachers with various teaching strategies which is a great way for students to learn about their learning process. There are also many opportunities, such as the C9 classes which allows Juniors and Seniors who are caught up with their credits to experience a certain work field. The great thing about Franklin Central is the CCR Fridays at the high school. The high school runs on a periods 1-7 schedule from Monday to Wednesday. Students are dismissed at 2:15. On Thursdays, students attend odd classes which are periods 1, 3, 5, and 7. Students are dismissed at 2:15 PM on Thursdays. On Fridays, students have an even day and they attend periods 2, 4, and 6. Students are released at 12:45 PM on Fridays. However, FC provides a second round of buses for students that need to stay til 2:15. Senior: Covenant Christian High School has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I have formed deep relationships with my peers and teachers, and I always feel safe and loved here. Although I have always enjoyed school, I didn't realize how much I could love learning and be engaged with my classes on a much deeper level, until I came to Covenant. I love all the opportunities that my school offers. For example, I am able to participate in multiple clubs and extracurriculars, and my school encourages school spirit and involvement. I love the theatre program at Covenant, and I love how it pushes students to become stronger in our faith and in our relationships with one another. Alum: Throughout my high school career, there was an apparent difference between the students in honors and ap classes and the students in college prep classes. For a school with a large body of students of color, the ratio of these students in challenging classes could have been better. There just wasn't much of an initiative to push students who weren't already on the honors track to pursue challenging courses or even extracurriculars. That being said compared to other schools the diversity of socioeconomic class, ethnicities, and overall student body added to the overall culture of the school. Exposure to different types of people in my experience makes for a more open-minded individual. That being said, the lack of support for teachers did disrupt the academic career of many students after covid. Overall a good school with a relatively large number of athletic opportunities, lacking in the club area due to an absence of sponsorship, but the general education received was pretty standard.... Freshman: I enjoyed having teams to be on, and I liked how the teachers would collaborate on certain things, or try to work their schedules around each other, to try to keep students the least stressed as possible.
