Alum: My experience in a Glendale Union High School District school was not horrible. I cannot say it was the best experience I’ve had because I was attending my sophomore year of high school when the pandemic hit its high, so I don’t think I had a fulfilled high school experience. Senior: The Phoenix Union High School District provides us students with many support systems such as groups to help with anxiety, meditating, and much more. With this district you get the support that you need whether it is from a counselor or teacher, they make sure you’re at your best. For example, sophomore year was hard for me due to my anxiety being on top of the roof but thanks to my counselor she let my teachers know if I needed to step out the classroom I should be allowed to. She taught me techniques that would help me control my anxiety. Middle School Student: At my school district, it’s honestly one of the best places I’ve ever been to. Not only is it excellent in the Academic area. It also excels in safety and discipline. My school district may have some downs, like not letting us bring siblings on field trips. It’s a place we’re I was able to make friends with out any hesitation. No bullying has happened to me so far. Nor any teasing that makes me feel dejected. Mostly, bullying is stopped. There is never a bully problem or fights at my school. The food is not 5 star quality, but it’s good enough to not make us gag. WESD also offers us many school activities, and many contest to win spectacular prizes. Parent: My daughter's both attend this district & have since they were both 3 years old. They started at Alhambra Preschool Academy & now both attend Alhambra Traditional School. We absolutely love this school! The teachers care about their students & always put in extra effort. If parents have questions or if a child needs additional assistance they are always willing to help. My daughter is in 6th grade, is on student council, has accomplished to make it on honor roll the last 2 years as well as perfect attendance the last 2 years. Lots of homework & enforced dress code, does require parent involvement, but this school is phenomenal and I'm extremely satisfied with the respect from the staff here. Senior: I enjoy coming to ASU Preparatory Academy because the teachers are involved with us. They help us with work through out the whole school period. I also like how there is not a lot of students in our class because it's a better work environment for all of the students. The teachers and staff care a lot for us and that's what makes up our school. The students, staff, and teachers are like family to all of us. Our school is united as one and that's what I love the most. I also like how I get to play football with the boys here, my teachers support me because I am a girl.
