Junior: The Belton School District had recently implemented a new program of "Academies." These include the Business and Technology Academy, the Science and Industry Academy, and finally the Public Services Academy. I would say the idea of the academies is great. However, it can add some restraint to a students school life. For example, a student from the Public Services Academy would like to take a course they are genuinely interested in but it is technically a part of another academy. No matter how early that student expresses they want to take said course (say by submitting their schedule early prior to most students in the academy with the wanted course) if there a a bunch of people from the academy that have to take said course but may not necessarily want to, the other kids are automatically put ahead of the Public Services Academy student. Like I said the idea of the academies overall is great but with some changes in how they are currently being run, the academies would be astounding.... Read 52 reviews
