DeSoto Unified School District
Senior: I have enjoyed my time in this school district. The teachers have, for the most part, been very supportive of me and my areas of interest. Specifically, the theatre and choir departments at Mill Valley High School has been a wonderful area of refuge for me within the huge school. I have made most of my friends through this program and will be forever thankful for it. I will say the debate and forensics department has not been as supportive of me, mostly due to the lack of support from administration for the program. I was involved through my freshman and sophomore years within the program. It supported an all work no play sort of attitude, although that is the sort of environment the general debate circuit in the midwest offers, so it is hard to tell whether it was a flaw within this specific department or the culture in the circuit as a whole....
