Senior: My experience in Grand Rapids Public School district was by far the best. Started in this district in the 2nd grade and it made me excited to come to school. I left the district to be at a closer school district and nothing was the same my grades had dropped. So I have since came back to the district and am now a senior about to graduate with all my credits. Only thing I think I would change about the district is the lunch we are given but that is all.

Parent: My kids love their school. Small enough that their teachers know them well and care about them as people. Student body is small and for the area is fairly diverse.
The shop department is top notch. There is a great selection of college level classes are offered to our Juniors and Seniors.
The down side to being a smaller district is there is not as much state/federal funds there for our district to use. This of course affects the class offerings. Wish that there were more fine music class offerings.
There was past talk of combing with a nearing district to have newer facility and better offerings for all student. However, home town pride and old school thinking has gotten in the way of that incredible possibilty.
Covid-19 restrictions this year, of course, will drastically change student life. Sports are limited. School functions, like pepfests and dances will not be happening.
We will be a family of proud NK graduates. Go Spartans/Titans.
