Parent: Both my children graduated from region 10 and were MORE than prepared for college compared to other students they encountered in college. The teachers and staff go above and beyond in educating , preparing, and nurturing the students. It is a small school system and the atmosphere supportive and there is a strong sense of community in the entire school system. I am grateful to the teachers for the education my children received in region 10 especially in the advanced and AP classes. Although the diversity is an issue, I do not feel this negatively impacted my children. They were taught the importance of diversity at school and at home in the world around them and continue to grow because of that to be amazing human beings who contribute positively to society.... Alum: I liked how Litchfield High School embraced the small high school experience. The teachers were very personal to each student pretty much knowing everyone in their class, the sports were encouraging to not only join but attend as a spectator, and the community helped out with the school constantly. I think what should be improved is the resources, it seemed that our guidance staff were trying to almost force every student to go to college. Many off my friends took different post high school routes and they were not pleased how the guidance staff did not try to help them improve their route. Junior: Watertown is a good school district overall with good academics and student participation in extracurricular activities. Teachers are also consistently very helpful and caring. The only issue is the inconsistencies between the schools in the district. For example, the middle school has a far superior cafeteria and food options in comparison to the other schools. Also the primary and high school have heating and cooling while the elementary school and parts of the middle school have no air conditioning in the summer months. Lastly the role of the administration is very different at the schools, with the middle school suffering the most from the lack of communication with parents and unnecessary changes to scheduling and separating students.... Junior: I am a homeschooler in the Plymouth school district, but I do enjoy the collaboration I have with other schools such as Terryville High School. I recently took the PSAT at THS and I was comforted by the school community. I wish to keep telling this district to stay strong and keep raising up good scholars.... Read 1 review

Senior: I had a great experience in the Waterbury School District. I went to Frank G. Regan elementary school and Waterbury Arts Magnet School for middle and high school. I had many opportunities to challenge myself with advanced placement courses and the early college experience. I joined many clubs and programs while in school and played three sports while in high school. I wish there were more incentives in school and field trips that we could go to. I think the district could also do more to inform students about college and the application process. I think that SAT prep should be more rigorous as well. I had to find resources on my own to study for it. Now there is a 530 club to help students score well on the math section of the SAT, and I really wish I had that when I was a sophomore or junior because it would have been exactly what I needed, but now it's too late.
