North Shore Central School District
#17 Best School Districts in New York
- School District
- SEA CLIFF, NY
- Rating 4.36 out of 5 14 reviews
Senior: The environment mixed with the brilliant teachers and helpful staff create a school experience that is worth remembering. There are a wide variety of high level courses that allow for students to choose the level of academics they wish to study. The music program at NSHS is excellent and, I would say, one of the best a high school can offer. Athletics are one of north shores strong points, and we take pride in the athletics that are offered. There is so much school pride that you can feel throughout the school and this creates a bond with the teachers and students that you cannot find at any other high school.

Alum: I did quite well in the Glen Cove School district. I started in this district in fourth grade and continued until high school graduation. The majority of the teachers were excellent and very involved in trying to assist their students. The clubs allowed for growth and leadership opportunities. It is a very diverse district that allowed for students to learn how to collaborate and include others. Although there were issues with the food quality and the facilities such as leaking ceilings in the middle school, the district has done the best it can with the budget they are allotted. I felt they prepared me well for my future. (Also it is a great district for those interested in music. The high school select chorale was particularly distinguished and sang for both the Pope and the US President in the past.) The district does the best it can to be inclusive of those with special needs and/or circumstances. I recommend it highly.
