The worst part of my experience in high school has been overcoming adversities and stress, especially during and after virtual learning due to Covid-19. Alum: Overall my experience at HHS was quite good, most teachers I had really cared about their students and doing all that they could for them. While there are some who seem to be there only for the paycheck, I luckily did not have to deal with too many of them. I would say there is a lack of preparedness for higher math levels though, I learned practically nothing of use in Algebra 2 for going into Pre-Calculus, the teacher was not that effective at her job, it was not just me experiencing this but my class as a whole. The Pre-Calculus teacher had to teach alot of things that we simply missed in Algrebra 2 that we were failed to be taught properly. On another note, the sports are quite good! We have had alot of success in many of them, of note Track and Field, Bowling, Basketball, and Wrestling.... Read 22 reviews

Senior: The school district overall is pretty good. I started my junior year in this school and really appreciated how welcoming everyone was. The teachers are very understanding and many are willing to offer extra help when needed. The one thing that caught my attention was how clean and well kept the school building was overall. It's clear as day that the schools district does its best to offer a happy and healthy environment for the attending students and staff. The one thing I would change or add as a matter of fact would be an indoor track team. It was a real bummer seeing students(including myself) having to wait until the outdoor season began. Senior: I've been in the Paterson Public School District for almost 7 years, there are great that I can connect with. What I like about the District is that most of the teachers are always willing to give extra help and are always very polite. What I would change is the food quality, evrything they give is not very healthy, and we always have to take milk with our lunch, there's always juice for breakfast and never an option for lunch.... Parent: Great school! Good teachers, principal, vice principal, ETC. Overall, pretty good, and all the teachers except a selected few are very understandable. Just to point out one teacher (Science), not to say exact name, but she is very good at teaching, and unlike another teacher who stays all day on her phone (hint hint, technology) I think she never rests and she always teaches, and is the opposite of lazy. The school is great but I hope to see improvement in: .Classroom looks (neatness, cleanliness, etc) .Student behavior (strictness to bullying, cursing, inappropriate behavior, etc Not a lot more, honestly. But instead of changing West Paterson, the old town name, to Woodland Park, which cost millions, fix up the libraries! Get more books to the public library and school library! Also, another UP is that every 5th and 6th grade student carries around a computer in a case, so you can always go on the computer in class when the teacher lets you for LEARNING purposes.
