Sophomore: I was student in the district for several years until moving out of state after 10th grade, and I thought the academics were very good. There is a variety of programs available in high school for ambitious students, such as STEM Academy and vocational training programs. In my experience the students and teachers are nice, and if you show interest in a class/subject, the teachers care and will encourage you. Eastern has a no phone policy during the day that is wonderful. Compared to my experience in a school with no such policy, it is much easier to make friends and focus on learning with Eastern's policy. I think the other schools have a less strict policy, but still much better than none. The diversity of the student body varies between the three high schools, Eastern and Central lack diversity while Northern has more. All three schools have strengths in different sports, often competing at the state level, occasionally even national depending on the sport (such as rowing).... Read 250 reviews

Alum: High school was very fun! We where in the suburb of Grand Rapids so there was quite a diverse group of people that attended the school. The best part of high school was being around your friends all of the time, it was something that I took for granted. All my friends I had classes with and after school even playing sports together. Parent: I have two students - one graduated in 2023 and is enjoying their first successful year at the University of Michigan and a current junior at KHHS who is taking an AP course and participating in Cross Country and thriving. I'm continually impressed by many of the invested and caring teachers who have helped guide my students. Kenowa Hills is in the sweet spot as far as size, big enough to offer more athletic/extracurricular opportunities than many other schools in their Conference, but small enough that most students can find, and participate in something they love year-round. Senior: Godwin Heights has been one of the best schools I've ever been to! We are very diverse, we make everyone feel welcome no matter where they come from. We have fun days and challenge days and I've never heard of another school have those types of activities. Fun days and challenge days make you feel more comfortable with your school and you get to experience talking to different people that you might not have already talked to in school. The teachers in this school make you feel comfortable in their classroom, they definitely show that they care about you. Godwin provides you with the education that everyone needs and I'm proud to say that I will be graduating from here soon! Sophomore: I been apart of GRPS since I was in 2nd grade it has been a great experience so far. I would like to see how it will be for the end of my high school career. The best part of being apart of GRPS is the many opportunities it provides the students. There many programs that we as the students can take apart of such as the GROWING1000 which our district pushes us to partake in. The program gets students great experience while paying them. Other one is that GRPS students can get two free years at GRCC which many students take. Something else cool is that our district is very close with local colleges and provides opportunities to get it into those colleges. Something’s bad about our district is that it has too many schools. To explain more I recently leaned about multiple schools that I never knew existed. Which makes the district spend a lot of money building and maintaining this schools. I would like our district to have less schools and spend money wisely.... Read 51 reviews
