Senior: I would like to see more involvement of the students and teachers rather than the board making education decisions for us. Otherwise, I feel as though we are a well-thought-out school district where learning is a top priority. The majority of teachers can about their students and go the extra mile for them when needed. There are multiple opportunities for students to be in charge of their own learning and get assistance when needed. Multiple clubs and extracurriculars are provided to students to help them build their resumes and get involved in their community. Senior: Overall from K-12 a positive experience however the teacher's union threatening strikes multiple times, many school board members resigning in the past 12 months (2022) and the unorganized roll out of covid protocol indicate an administration that behind the scenes isn't well functioning.... Sophomore: Batavia Public Schools focus on getting every student prepared for the future. Starting at the middle school where we would look at future interests in schools, and professions. After that they focused on the step it would take to accomplish the goals required by each unique individual. Our grade councilor and the student would then make a detailed plan to help guide us through courses and what would help prepare us for our specific future. Here at BHS every administrative worker focuses on what’s best for the student and their upcoming objective. The variety of clubs and activities help school feel like everyone has a purpose and that everyone can come together in alike hobbies or interests. We have a variety of recourses to help us prepare for any writing in class or college. Great teachers to provide answers for math, science, and technology.
