Alum: I was a student at Hermantown High school. During my time there I had an amazing experience. I was a transfer student from another High School in the area and upon arrival to Hermantown I was immediately welcomed into the community. The teachers were great! They were very helpful and understanding when I needed help, and they would spend the time walking me through the questions I had to get to the right answer. Junior: The Duluth Public School District is full of competent teachers and students alike. The many programs and classes offered at the various schools whether it be middle or high school are healthily competitive and offer various opportunities for growth and enrichment. Starting my education here in 1st grade after completing kindergarten in a different state was easy. I met plenty of friendly staff and my teachers have all been extremely influential. The students also are caring and welcoming thanks to an open minded attitude that teachers have passed down. In high school, I observed the two student government bodies make change in and outside of the classroom and was inspired by it to join as a junior. By providing administrative roles to students, the district has prepared us for leadership roles for our professional lives. My only gripe is that there is a sort of tension between the two district high schools, but I suppose that it is just natural competition.... Read 44 reviews

Senior: Overall my experience at Proctor High School was pretty good! The teachers are the reason I enjoyed my time here so much. It felt as though they truly cared about their students. I had connections with everyone of my teachers and felt as though they knew me. Everyday they were pushing the students to learn and be the best person they could be. Senior: I really love the overall school district, and being in Superior since Elementary I was able to experience every piece of it. I wouldn't prefer any other school! I enjoyed the class array of choices, although personally, I would've preferred more art classes, but the ones provided filled my schedule to the limit. Sophomore: I have loved attending Carlton. It is a small school which I enjoy. I have attended Carlton since Pre-K so I have gotten to really know the school. I get so much one-on-one time with teachers which is very helpful if I have questions about any of the material. Since it's small, every student can do any sport or club they are interested in making our school super inclusive. We are a very tight-knit school and everyone gets to know each other very well. Overall, I would want to go anywhere else. Carlton High School is a second home to me and I could imagine it any other way.... Read 6 reviews
