Senior: Grand Blanc is an excellent school with numerous opportunities in terms of academics and setting you up for future success. So many programs offered allow you to be and feel prepared for college. There are also many great diversity programs, making sure that everyone has a chance of being included in something with people with similar interests to them. I wish Grand Blanc would add or consider a program for athletes that would allow them to share thoughts or opinions about the coaching staff that will let them advocate for change if necessary.... Senior: What I appreciate about Davison high-school is that there is many extracurriculars that students can join. From sports such as Track and Football to clubs such as Bible club and Anime Club. With many extracurriculars students are allowed to grow and connect with others allowing school spirit to grow. A thing I would change about Davison is having a better control on behavior issues. These issues would include drugs such as vapes. I personally wish they would be tougher on students in this area, because smelling people vaping in the bathroom everyday is sickening.... Alum: Goodrich is a very safe, small, and family friendly public school. The administration and most of the sports coaches play by politics; if your family is full of Goodrich alumni, you're more likely to get on a team. The diversity is very low in this little town. Middle School Student: What i like about Kearsley is that the teachers care. Not just your grades though, if your getting bad grades they dig deeper into your mental health and notice if your down and allow you to talk to them. The counselors are sweet and caring too and after a visit with them, they pull you out of class a couple weeks later to check up on how things are going currently. The teachers have also been very helpful with the Covid-19 and making things a little less difficult school wise. The teachers organize and plan very carefully and make sure to clean the areas after each class along with other workers (janitors) always on their feet to make a sterile environment for everyone.... Alum: The Lapeer schools helped me become who I am today. I had so many amazing teachers that were patient and helped me with anything I needed. It was not he best life growing up. I had many family problems at home, and i hated going back home. But school was an escape for me. I never felt I was good enough for anything. I never went out for sports after 8th grade and never made good connections with friends. I studied so hard and focused on my school work so that I could make it out of Lapeer. I graduated with a 4.0 and number 9 in my class! I was part of the National Honors society and I was the only girl that took woods class for three years in a row! However, when the schools were combined, the district was a disaster. Passion in the teachers and students was lacking drastically and still is. Bullying is higher than ever and students are just not making it. Teachers don't care and act like the students are not worth it. There is no structure and they have cut the arts so much.... Alum: The greatest advantage that Bentley Community Schools have over other neighboring school districts is the size of the district. The small district allows the student to connect with many other student and teachers. All the students know each other and form strong, life long friendships, companionships and relationships with other students, teachers, mentors, coaches, and staff. Bentley schools is also excellent at providing all student the opportunity to learn and obtain essential knowledge to pursue whatever the student feels is in their future. Students receive life lessons and education through means that best fit to every individual student and to their needs. In doing so the learning environment and safe, healthy, comfortable and educational. With the environment the student don't fell stressed, under constant pressure or depressed.
