Senior: The Western Dubuque Community School District is a very inviting and family- like place. Our school district is unique because it contains two separate high schools. I attend the smaller high school in the district, Cascade High School. Although the two school are split, the administration does a fantastic job making it feel as if both schools were one big family. Nevertheless, Cascade High School also has its own strengths separate and unique from Western Dubuque. Three years ago, Cascade High School built an outstanding new gym, wrestling room, and music room which has contributed to an overall better athletic and fine arts program within the school. Additionally, each and every teacher at the high school is dedicated to the students and their success.

Parent: I am very impressed with the Dubuque Community School District. The District is filled with qualified, caring teachers that want every student to succeed. Academics are top-notch, and there are classes for every level of student. There are numerous AP classes in high school that will earn college credit. There are students that can earn a full 1 year of college credit if they take enough AP classes. There are a great variety of extracurricular activities that will satisfy every student's desires.

Niche User: I do not have a child at Woodberry, but our school’s squash team has played theirs on several occasions. Each time, whether home or visiting, I am incredibly impressed with how gracious, well-mannnered, and polite their players are. Winning or losing, they have a kind word for their teammates and opponents, and even parents. They carry themselves maturely and respectfully. I can’t speak for the academics, but whatever they are doing to build these boys’ character, well done!
