Senior: Decatur High School has a lot to offer in terms of student involvement in the community. Because City Schools of Decatur has only one high school, students from across the city come together. This allows for a huge variety in opinions and ideas. I greatly value the broad perspective Decatur has given me. The arts department in particular is thriving! The school put on 2 musicals this year, as well as 2 straight plays. The teachers in the arts department are clever and care quite a bit for their students! The administration can be a little aggravating, as they don't really take action in student cases unless you campaign very loudly, but there are other routes students can take to get help. Parent: Well rounded. Triple A! Academics, Arts, Athletics! Milton is a lovely school that feels more like a college campus. It has professors that really care. The administration makes a point to check in in the students. Students with 504's or IEP's get the accommodations and attention they need while not feeling singled out. Senior: I've been a student in the Atlanta public school system since the eighth grade. My experience in middle school(Sutton middle School) was great! The campus was beautiful, the teachers are all very attentive to the students, extra curricular activities were of fun as well. I currently attend North Atlanta High School and this by far has to be the closest experience to a private school (in a public setting) that I've experienced so far. The campus is huge, but intimate. I would consider my North Atlanta teachers and students as family. The teachers are all great I have no complaints and I've done extremely well. Senior: Dekalb County Schools is an excellent school system! I've been a Dekalb County student since elementary school. They, like any other person, place, or object, have shortcomings. I appreciate how committed and concerned our instructors are. All of my professors have pushed me to be the best I can be and have kept me going. I've also formed friendships with my instructors at school. I may put forth the effort, but it is my professors and parents that keep me going! Freshman: Throughout my whole life, I have always lived in this district since I can remember. I only went to three different schools overall. I can't really imagine myself in another district or school that isn't close here. I cam very open and comfortable here. The diverse is incredible! Here in Clayton County everyone is very open-minded. Of course there will be one or two who quite isn't. The teachers I had were strict but always had their fun ways of teaching. My experience here is enjoyable although there are few concerns I have. I have siblings that have autism and other conditions. It helped me see more in this world where I wished there was professional with a title of helping and teaching kids. I saw that not every teacher has the patience for this job.
