Alum: Wellsville is a close knit community, which transfers to the school. The school spirit is overwhelming and one of the greatest experiences of the school. Last names often help to gain leverage within the school, as some students are punished unfairly. Overall, the school has great academics but prepping for college could be improved.

Senior: Andover Central School is extremely unique. Our school definitely has many advantages and many disadvantages but I wouldn't have changed where I go to school for the world.
Our school is extremely small with a graduating class of about 27 kids, this to me is a huge advantage because this gives us a close relationship with our peers and our teachers. Our teachers care about their students they want us all to succeed in our own ways. When we have questions we go to them and ask for help and they know exactly who we are and how we learn and are completely willing to help.
Some of our disadvantages are that having such a small school leaves little room for diversity and choices of which teachers you would rather work with. This leaves little room for more than the standard courses. We don't have the opportunities bigger schools are able to offer but I believe that this is made up in the quality of the courses we do have.

Junior: I cannot say enough about how much SEM has helped me grow and evolve as an academic and as a leader! When I first came to SEM, I believed that I was only an above-average math/science student however, after just one year at SEM, my teachers' passion and encouragement completely changed my mind, and I now plan to pursue a major in biology in college. Before coming to SEM, I thought that the only kind of leadership that one could assume in High School was to be the class president, yet SEM proved to change my perspective again! Apart from the vast number of opportunities there are to be a class officer, club president, or sports team captain at SEM, there are other ways to be a leader as well; I learned to lead a dialectical discourse at SEM's harkness tables by inviting others to share their thoughts. SEM has given me the confidence and motivation I will need to venture out into the world and onto college while also giving me a warm and welcoming place to return to as my alma mater.
