Senior: I really loved my high school. I was a transfer student freshman year and I was very nervous to start at my new school. However, I was given a friendly welcome and a great education. I first hated the fact that I had to move away from my old school but I realized that life at this school was probably much better than it would have been at my old school education wise. Parent: Portsmouth schools are amazing. Wish they were more open during covid but we understand what everyone is going through. The remote learning has improved since last Spring and if anything this might have taught everyone how to not lose school days if a snow day is called after covid....school can go on! District has great communication with parents and tries to get families involved. Senior: I am a senior and over the course of attending Lebanon High School I've seen the school itself transition through 3 different principals, a shift in staffing every year, and amazing support for the students, of course. Lebanon High School wouldn't be one of those schools that are very rich nor very poor, it's a school that holds students of all race and gender that we even have unisex bathrooms available for those who don't feel comfortable in a gender based bathroom. The student body is made up of many different talent and we have access to basically everything anyone can come up with and that opportunity for an incoming freshman or curious junior makes up LHS as a great community.... Parent: The Cooperative middle school and Exeter High School are good schools. Most of the teachers and support staff care and have handled the pandemic efficiently. EXeter High School has great opportunities for high schoolers.. There is a wide variety of really interesting courses available. Some favorites are creative writing, forensics and Shakespeare. The teachers of these classes in particular are very passionate about the subject matter. The levels of college prep, honors and advanced placement or dual enrollment for many core classes is great. Unfortunately the administration is what holds these schools back from being excellent. There is no accountability for students and it just gets worse the further on in the schools they get. Senior: I feel that the Windham school district offered a variety of options for coursework. The thing that I feel could change is the mandatory courses of "Cultural Foundations" and "American Studies". These 2 classes needed in freshman and sophomore years combine history and English. Senior: I liked the buildings, they are all newly renovated. The kids there are really nice and the teachers support their students. They offer night classes to adults or students that do not prefer day school. The proms are fun and they have JROTC and it's a great program! Senior: Overall, Hopkinton High School offers good classes that can help you prepare for college or a field you're interested in. I've enjoyed most of my time with the teachers I've had, and many of them try their best to give you the best learning experience. If I could change anything about HMHS, I would ask for more classes to be offered, as there are many science-related courses that are not available. I wish for the school to eventually run on renewable energy, although this is something that parts of the student body are currently working on. This is also quite a small school, so it's not hard to notice how little of diversity there is. Other than these aspects, I have enjoyed most of my time at the school, and I have had a great experience with sports teams that I have joined as well. Although prom was missed, and graduation was not set up the way it had been conducted in years before, the parents, students, teachers and administration still made these times memorable for the class of 2020. Senior: Dover has been all I've known since kindergarten- the new beginnings of elementary school, awkward phases in middle school, and final endings of high school. What I love most about Dover is the culture- every morning I'm greeted by the faces of my friends, old and new. I hang out with my best friend from kindergarten along with someone I started bonding with just days before. Same with the teachers. There are some teachers that students feel so connected with like there is no border between students and staff. As for negatives, I, along with all other students I have talked to, feel a strong disconnect between the faculty and the students. We bring up issues, suggestions, and ideas and they only get addressed to shut us up. It feels as though higher-level will acknowledge our concerns yet feel the need to decide "yes" or "no" right off the bat. Senior: I started in the Nashua school district as a 5th grader. The staff was very supportive as soon as I was introduced to the district, I was put into an ELL program which allowed me to round myself with people with similar struggles. Middle school came by, nothing other than ELL classes were offered to me, I was placed in lower-level classes because of where I came from. As the last year of middle school came by, teachers discouraged me from taking higher-level classes in high school because of who I was. I listened, and my high school GPA took a hard hit. Nobody had explained to me how the system worked, so I was just left on my own to figure it all out. As a senior now, I have pushed myself to a full schedule of AP classes as well as 8 Biotechnology Dual-enrollment credits. Sometimes things happen for a reason because now I learned that I am much more than someone else's opinion. Senior: The Litchfield School District has been great to its students over the past years. The administration, especially at Campbell High School, is stellar, and even if the teachers are not all perfect, they care about our education. For a small school there is a quite an array of classes, and if there is a vocational class not provided, surrounding high schools allow you to take those classes there. The food could use some improvement and the schools are not very diverse at all, but other than that, this is a great district. The parents are very involved and our sports programs are great, starting at the elementary level, all the way up to high school sports. Overall, from loading my schedule with honors and AP classes for the past two years I feel ready for college which is the most important thing.... Read 8 reviews
