Senior: Overall, I really like Elkhorn. They push their students to work hard to have a good future. They also provide a wide range of activities and clubs to be involved in. I am a senior currently, and I have liked almost all of the teachers that I have had in this district. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is that they sometimes overly push taking AP and honors classes. This causes many kids to feel like they need to take those classes, even if they would be too difficult. This is not okay. Not every student needs to take all honors and AP classes to be successful. With that being said, the teachers of the honors and AP classes are understanding, and they realize that the classes are hard. Senior: Millard Public Schools does a great job of getting your readying for college and building a background where you are able to take on the real world once you graduate. The teachers and coaches do a great job of guiding you and giving you the right resources and steps in order for you to succeed. Millard West has challenged me in every aspect of academics, including how to handle failure. Senior: The school is amazing. The buildings are really beautiful and there are a multitude of classes to take at the high school. I truly loved going to school here because it helped push me into thinking bigger about my future. The only downside is a lot of the student body is wealthy so some classes or opportunities are not available if you don’t have money. The community is great though. Senior: I am the youngest of 4 girls and we have all gone through the Pender schooling system. Our test scores, when compared to nearby schools, exceed expectations. The teachers care about you and know your name, and there are systems to make sure that every student gets their work done and is doing okay mentally. Sophomore: The staff and courses at Chadron High School are excellent. The teachers and administrators are constantly working to improve our experiences at this facility. Safety from fire drills t lockdown drills are excellent and provide the students with the confidence that they are safe in these environments. Alum: I spend my entire four-year high school career at Diller Odell. Although it is a very small school I feel like Diller Odell makes a big impact on everything it is involved in. The teachers care. I still talk to some of my teachers if I ever need help. My English teacher will still read my essays to make sure that they are presentable to be turned in for college. The counselor, she's amazing. I texted her last minute stating that I was reading to go to college and get my degree and her response was, "how can I help make that happen". All of the faculty staff there care, and that's what makes Diller Odell special. The food was mildly gross somedays but man do they know how to make a mean chili chrispito, I miss those.... Junior: Lincoln Public Schools is an overall good school district. The teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable about what they teach. The majority of the teachers in the district are younger than average, so they are able to connect with their students, even as younger generations continue to differentiate from older ones. Many of the teachers are passionate about their work, which is reflected in their students' engagement in class. Additionally, there are an abundance of opportunities for devoted students to challenge themselves. I myself have enjoyed the opportunity to take multiple AP classes, which have challenged me to think in new ways in order to learn. However, there is a lack of dedication for students who aren't as devoted. The district provides the same opportunities for these students to learn, but they don't inspire them to use these opportunities. These past few years have been a challenge for all., therefore Papillion La Vista high did not only push all students to achieve success but mentally helped each and every student feel comfortable and approachable during this epidemic. The Papillion La Vista school district gave us guidance and resources to reach out to experts in mental health throughout pandemic . When I was a incoming freshman I was concerned that I wouldn't meet new people and acquire friends. This school gave me many opportunities to do that. The endless amount of Clubs, sports, and lastly activities gave me the opportunity to meet my best friends I have today. Freshman: Some things I like about West Holt are the many opportunities I am given to learn. I also like being able to choose between a wide variety of classes and activities. I never feel left out at West Holt. I would also like to mention the great teaching staff at West Holt. Every teacher is nice and helpful to their students. Some more details on why I enjoy attending West Holt besides the academics are the sports I attend. Because we are a class D school I usually never have to try out for a team. At West Holt I attend wrestling and golf. I plan on joining the cross country team next year. Senior: Mullen Public Schools is a small school that makes sure every student gets the help and attention they deserve. I feel that if I ever struggle in a class i can go in after school and get one on one help. Not every school can give that to their students but I am glad to say Mullen Public Schools does. I feel very safe when I am at school. Every door is locked with a fob system and only faculty members have fobs. I feel like every teacher of faculty member will do everything in their power to keep me safe and out of danger. I have only been at Mullen Public Schools for five years but it feels like a lot longer and they treat me like I have been here all my life. They strongly encourage sports and other extra ciriculars such as FFA and FCCLA which I am in both. My class is only thirteen students so everyone gets to know everyone and we all get along....
