Parent: Vail is the best district in the state of Arizona hands down! They have two main focuses that we love. First, they are all about building high quality relationships with parents, students, and staff. They bring parents in, encouraging frequent engagement, and they listen to parents. They exist to serve parents in providing a high quality education and services for their children. Second, these people really know and understand the how regarding academic achievement. They dig deeply into their assessment data, set goals, take action, and provide the highest quality instruction anywhere. In fact, hundreds of other districts now partner with Vail to get help from them to increase student achievement in their school districts. Our daughters are now in 11th and 12th grades and started school here. We are grateful to have raised them here! They are thriving young people. Alum: I love Catalina Foothills. From day one all the way to my last day at the high school and beyond it’s been a joy to call Catalina Foothills my community and my schooling. Growing up in the district was such a blessing as the students and staff were so kind and helpful, giving me so many connections and resources and experiences it’s insane. I would not be the same person with out them. While I loved every aspect of the district, one of my favorite things about it is the band program. Being apart of the Catalina Foothills marching band was such an amazing experience. I can’t speak highly enough about it. While I continue to praise Catalina Foothills inside and out, keeping it real, I did have some pretty bad experiences. I had some crappy classes and a received a few not so friendly comments here and there, but that’s life. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows although Catalina foothills was pretty close. Junior: I first moved into this district at the age of 9, going into the fourth grade. I was nervous to come to a school where I knew nobody. It was a major change because this school was much bigger than my previous one. By the end of the first year, I felt okay with this school and was accepting it. As I got older, I was building memories with friends, and was able to get involved in sports teams, whereas the elementary didn't have that. I believe that's why I am liking my high school experience the most in this district, because I'm able to get more involved in school events where people share the same interests as me. I met one of my best friends through the high school varsity soccer team and I wouldn't have it any other way. Sophomore: Flowing Wells is a great school district and better than most school districts I have lived in. Most students here are well mannered and respectful to each other and teachers. The clubs and sports here are very diverse, there are many sports that you can play that you can learn while playing. Sophomore: It is my first year here at Canyon Del Oro and I absolutely love it. All of the teachers are so well educated about their subjects and teach so well. The other students are also diverse and creative and make you feel extremely welcome. Although I do wish that advisory would get taken out of the schedule as it adds extra time in school when we could be doing other things that interest us, like extracurriculars. Senior: I joined the Marana School District as a junior in high school. Enrolling in a new school as a colored person I was terrified that I wouldn't make any friends and would face discrimination, I was wrong. Senior: Overall Tucson unified school district has been a great experience. Since kindergarten I have been attending a TUSD school and I’d have to say I’ve meet some of the most amazing people within that time frame. TUSD accepts people from all over the world and does an Amazing job at creating a safe space for everyone. TUSD schools hold many wonderful opportunities for students including; sports, school trips, JTED programs, etc. I would recommend not only TUSD schools in general but I would recommend Vesey Elementary, Utterback Middle School and Pueblo High School to any incoming TUSD students!... Parent: Southern Arizona Community Academy truly cares about students and they focus to make sure each student feels supported. My son has always felt "dumb". Yesterday he told me "hey mom, apparently I am good at writing, that's a first, huh?" He had a smile on his face and although he doesn't get homework, he came home and worked on his school work. Niche User: I will start Pima partnership school, they are so many options to chose from. With one certificate you can go into various places in the field you’re studying for.
