Senior: I am now a high school senior and have been attending pinellas county schools my whole life. I’ve had a relatively good experience and I feel as though things have been improving in some aspects and becoming worse in others. The high school curriculum is good, although some teachers may differ in their teaching styles. The elementary curriculum seems to be making turns for the worse in several ways, I’m surprised that it doesn’t seem like they are doing the spelling tests or cursive that I did in elementary school. Freshman: Ever since I came to Hillsborough county, It was love at first sight. Since, elementary I was surrounded by amazing teachers that supported me all the way. I definitely improved in my academic skills. My English improved tremendously. Middle school student: The teachers are great and the district try’s to make learning fun while getting students all the information they need to succeed. They provide a wide range of learning levels and extra help for students if they need it for ALL grade levels. They have policies that better the students and teachers environment such as restrictions on cell phone usage in school. Students can be open about things other then school, like home life and they would be protected and helped to the best of the schools and district’s abilities. Senior: My experience has unfortunately been limited in the Hernando County school district but has remained nothing but incredible. From K-8 I attended Pasco county schools and until moving to Hernando county was oblivious to how bad it was. Hernando County offers an educational environment for all students with the attention of all the faculty to seeing each and every student succeed. My teachers have been nothing but great, most of them making me feel confident in my course work and abilities.
