Sophomore: Although Pine Island is simply a small town outside of a very popular town like Rochester, Minnesota. It fulfills so many memories and times of laughter. As one of the smallest schools in our district, our mix of city and farm lifestyles make Pine Island pretty amazing. We may have around 100 kids per grade, but our size only strengthens us. The minimal resources we have access to in comparison to the large Rochester schools do give us a disadvantage; however, we do A LOT with what we have. Our arts programs work to give us such beneficial programs like band, orchestra, choir, theatre productions, and amazing art department, and so much more. Our size is not our weakness, our size is what brings us together and enriches our community. Pine Island is there for each other, and I am proud to call it my home and to have it’s name on my high school diploma.... Read 13 reviews

Senior: My experience as a student of Rochester Public School District has been a positive enrichment. Being part of a school district that places the students and their needs first is essential for optimal learning. Rochester Public School District provides a learning environment that supports each student with their individual requirements that is unique to each student. I am impressed with the variety of support services offered with qualified, caring and positive individuals. One place I would like to see change involves the funding for classroom activities. I know some students have difficulty financially with extra supplies and materials. This barrier sets a tone within the classroom that divides students and could cause some to feel uncomfortable. Often times fundraisers are introduced and prizes for top sellers are awarded. I don’t feel it’s public information to share who couldn’t afford to buy in to the fund raiser. Senior: Chatfield is a great school for education and preparing for the future. The administration sucks and the small town school sucks. Great resources and teachers who put a lot into teaching and making their students feel prepared, ready, and secure. Junior: I have been a student at Zumbrota Mazeppa since preschool and have seen the district through great change and development. I am happy to say that ZM has some of the best academics in the area and are doing well to get students college-ready. The academics and good teaching really shows through our high MCA scores and above average ACT scores. The schools have just gone through a major renovation so all the facilities are new and up to standard. However what we could work on is the club opportunities and school culture. There are little to no clubs so if you are new it is hard to find a group of people with the same interests. Where the school is lacking the most I think is the culture. After Covid the school culture deminished almost completely with traditions going extinct because of lack of involvement and because of that and lack of clubs I think I lacks an inviting atmosphere. Senior: Lake city has a very good teacher roster. A majority of the teachers care about you alot and will try their best to help you if you are struggling. Of course there are some outliers but there are only a few. Something i would like to see change is how lunch is handled. Recently, they have struggled to cook enoughfood to make it through everyone. I feel as though Stewartville could be a more welcoming and equal school district. Discipline is not existent at Stewartville high school. Senior: Triton Public school is an excellent place to send children. It is a loving and nurturing environment for all children. The staff is very passionate about what they do and truly care for the children they teach. The school has recently had several improvements including a new middle school library and a turf field. Senior: In this community and school district everyone knows each other and it is really easy to form lasting connections with faculty and teachers. The community rallies behind the school during sporting events, functions, and holidays. The district is very generous with the scholarships and opportunities they provide us with. I am so glad I moved into this welcoming environment, though I do wish the school remodeling was happening before I leave after this year! The one thing I would have liked was more clubs! Senior: Hayfield High School has given me so many opportunities for my future, they have provided me with not only knowledge but life lessons that will forever stick with me. I am forever thankful for their fight for the student's schooling and knowledge even when it was hard to educate the youth during the dark times of 2020. They did what they could do, and fought for the importance of our education. The teachers worked harder than they thought they ever could but in the end, they kept up with us as much as we students were patient. If I could thank them all again I would.
