Middle School Student: I have attended this school district my whole life and it is an amazing district and furthermore an amazing community. At Russell Independent Schools there are wonderful teachers,administrators,and overall staff that many students have come to form bonds with. The district offers wonderful programs like band,orchestra,foreign languages,architecture classes,and much more. Moving to a new school is hard but with the wonderful staff and students, moving to Russell will make the process much easier.... Read 30 reviews

Junior: The school district has shown me a great amount of opportunity to flourish throughout my academic career. Since elementary school they have adapted and catered to both mine and others' academic excellence. They have great sports programs and many extra curricular clubs to get involved in such as FBLA, beta club, NHS, Mu Alpha Theta and many others. The staff and teachers are welcoming, as I have had a chance to create a real relationship with numerous teachers, administrators, and librarians over the years. There is also a local pride with going to school within the district. We have one of the oldest schools in the area and there are generations of citizens that still link being an Ashland Tomcat with their identity. My grandparents went to Blazer, my Dad went to Blazer, and now I will graduate from Blazer in a year and their isn't anywhere I would have rather gone to school.... Read 12 reviews

Senior: Several teachers are well rounded and set a respectable path for students to learn independently. This school offers several challenging courses that prepare all students to be able to handle college classes. I am very happy to have attended this school because I was able to shape my morals and ethics based on how the school’s environment lead me to react. Alum: Raceland Schools are a tremendous place to learn and grow as a student and an individual. Spending my entire educational career there, I grew so close with my teachers and admin, and I was able to bond with younger Rams and set an example for them. The new middle school is a great facility and new renovations around campus add to the atmosphere. Parent: I have been impressed about the resources they provide for the students during college readiness. The counselor makes sure every student has signed up for at least 1 college and The amount of times recruiters and college fairs are available to students gives more opportunity for students to see what out there. The staff stands behind their students and staff during times of troubles and crisis. I've never seen any other school show the love and support the staff has for their students and fellow staff, teachers and coaches as I have with Boyd. Senior: Ironton is a small town with a tight knit group of people. Everyone knows everyone so our relationships are good. They have high expectations when the teachers know you on a personal level. They also have a greater understanding on how each kid learns because there isn't too many kids.I personally loved my experience and think they really prepared me for the real world.... Senior: I love Chesapeake High School. I have such amazing and meaningful connections with so many of my teachers and faculty. Everyone is so nice and we always want to help each other out. Many people from our district will move from other schools to ours, because of our friendly and loving environment. Alum: South point high school is a wonderful place. I just graduated on the 21st and bawled my eyes out. I didn’t want my high school career to end. It feels like it flew by but, I’m in the real world now. The staff at south point high school is just truly amazing. They are always so helpful and one thing I like about them is that they become like you’re best friend. They let you build those strong connections and friendships with them which is what a lot of kids love and need. They might not get that love and attention at home and school is their safe spot so it’s important to have staff like that. I’m sad it’s over but I will and have cherished the memories and connections I’ve made with everything over the past 13 years. Senior: Everyone is friendly and dependable. You always feel comfortable and welcomed as soon as you walk through the doors.
