Junior: I think the Esko Public School District has a good foundation with well rounded students and faculty. I have went to school in Esko for my entire life. I believe I have been well educated and well rounded from the many programs and the tight knit community. The in school and out of school activities has expanded my horizons through athletics, clubs, and programs. During COVID our district kept the community safe while still including the community safely to listen to school board meetings. Our education flourished during COVID to keep students caught up and still able to be apart of the school experience. Alum: I attended Cloquet schools all the way from pre-k until graduation. Overall I would highly recommend. I met some of the best teachers and staff over my time there! I felt ready for college when I graduated. My only issues with the district is their overlooking minorities. I found that if you didnt advocate for yourseld the guidance counselors would never reach out and a lot of students got left behinf becasue of this. Junior: The Duluth Public School District is full of competent teachers and students alike. The many programs and classes offered at the various schools whether it be middle or high school are healthily competitive and offer various opportunities for growth and enrichment. Starting my education here in 1st grade after completing kindergarten in a different state was easy. I met plenty of friendly staff and my teachers have all been extremely influential. The students also are caring and welcoming thanks to an open minded attitude that teachers have passed down. In high school, I observed the two student government bodies make change in and outside of the classroom and was inspired by it to join as a junior. By providing administrative roles to students, the district has prepared us for leadership roles for our professional lives. My only gripe is that there is a sort of tension between the two district high schools, but I suppose that it is just natural competition.... Read 46 reviews

Sophomore: I have loved attending Carlton. It is a small school which I enjoy. I have attended Carlton since Pre-K so I have gotten to really know the school. I get so much one-on-one time with teachers which is very helpful if I have questions about any of the material. Since it's small, every student can do any sport or club they are interested in making our school super inclusive. We are a very tight-knit school and everyone gets to know each other very well. Overall, I would want to go anywhere else. Carlton High School is a second home to me and I could imagine it any other way.... Read 6 reviews

Niche User: My experience with Barnum Schools was pretty good. All of the teachers really cared about the students when I attended school there. The only subject they didn't have in high school when I was there, was a home economic class which I feel would have been very beneficial for students to learn how to handle finances or how to prepare a home cooked meal. Senior: Overall my experience at Proctor High School was pretty good! The teachers are the reason I enjoyed my time here so much. It felt as though they truly cared about their students. I had connections with everyone of my teachers and felt as though they knew me. Everyday they were pushing the students to learn and be the best person they could be. Senior: Superior High School is a very good school in my personal opinion. I feel as though my experience was a bit skewed since my freshman year was hybrid due to COVID 19, which was probably the worst part of my high school experience. Having my freshman year be hybrid didn't properly set me up socially to be as involved as I desired to be and in general it was very difficult to get involved, specifically into sports. I didn't begin to be involved sports until my sophomore year, and being a part of the sports teams was probably one of the best parts of being at superior high school because the students and coaches alike are very welcoming and the team spirit incredible. Academically, I feel as though 98% of teachers cared immensely for each and every one of their students and it rooting for their success. Over all the classes were taught well and there was ample opportunity to take a challenging class schedule. Overall my highs school experience was quite good apart from the rocky beginning.... Alum: A small school with bog opportunities. There are multiple College in the School courses to choose from; the class size is small so you get the attention that you need! I graduated with a class of 16, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. This was a small close net community where everybody helped one another! Parent: Small class sizes allow teachers to get to know their students well. All the staff in the building know all of the students names. Very friendly and "homey" environment.
