Parent: I feel we have the most caring teachers! They put their all into engaging all students to make learning fun. I have two students in the district at opposite ends. My student who struggles has found the extra help he needed. My student who excels and was getting bored in class had teachers who recognized this and stepped up. Centerville offers so many extra curricular options that I never had growing up! So many ways for students to find their niche. They take bullying very seriously and neither of my kids have ever witnessed it or a fight if any kind. Freshman: I fisrt started school at Bellbrook in 5th grade. Before coming to this school my grades were not so good. But after moving here, I went from a D average to and A average. The teachers are more involved and they find fun ways for us to remember what we are teaching.The only thing I would say that is bad about Bellbrook is a lack of diversity . Junior: As a currently-enrolled junior at Springboro High School, my experience has exceeded my initial expectations. I transferred here as a Freshman during a time in which connections were difficult. Despite these circumstances, the staff tried their very best to connect with students on a personal level. The students were as kind-if not more so- and did everything they could to make me feel welcome. As a gifted English student, I was enrolled in classes that not only made me a better reader and writer, but a better thinker. This suburban Ohio school with no seemingly distinguishable attributes held more within its doors than anything I could have hoped for. In terms of extracurriculars, its fairly decent size served advantageous in providing students opportunities to become leaders within their own personal fields of interests. Junior: I attend Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio and it is just exceptional. The small class sizes allow for interpersonal connection with professors and undivided attention for students. There exists a vast amount of diversity here on campus amongst the students and the staff. Some of the courses offered here are not offered anywhere else in the local area and there is an option to design your own degree through careful course selection and course creation. Parent: Waynesville is a quaint little town located in between Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio. Everyone knows each other and look out for each other. Senior: I have been a student of Northmont since I was in the kindergarten. Overall, I have had an amazing and unforgettable experience. All of the teachers I’ve had, minus a select few, I have had amazing relationships with. I have created bonds with them, keeping them now as a Senior. Throughout the years, I have been involved in lots of amazing clubs. I have been a cheerleader for most of my life, and supporting the thunderbolts has always been a passion of mine. The school spirit is amazing and the atmosphere of football games is something I can't even describe. The people I have met on the way have also been amazing. Everyone in the Northmont community is so supportive and friendly. The parades and festivals we have as a town are so much fun and the community is very diverse. Overall, growing up in this community has been a lot of fun, and I have created lifelong memories with amazing people, and teachers that I will remember forever. Senior: Valley View High School in Germantown, Ohio is a wonderful school to attend. It is a smaller rural area school. There were 140 students in my graduating class. Because of this, teachers know their students and many of the students' families resulting in a more personal individualized experience. I believe the best thing about Valley View is the Performing Arts program. We have an amazing, band, choir and theater club. Musical performances sell out every year. The one thing I would like to see change is for the Performing Arts to receive the attention they deserve. Unfortunately, like in many other schools, athletics always seem to garner the most attention and funding even though we have had far more students go on to careers in the Arts than in sports.... Senior: I have went to Franklin City Schools my entire life so I have nothing to compare it to. What I can say is that it is a small town and so you know everyone in school with you. There is never a time you will not be in the company of someone you know! Sports are a major source of comradery here. We are in the process of getting all new schools and that would have been my one thing to change would be to see some updated buildings. Senior: Tecumseh Local Schools is a very welcoming district. Not everything about the school is good but I still consider my experience a good one. Guidance counselors really help you get ready for college, but only a few classes actually have the material to make you prepared. At times, the administrators did seem to make decisions based off of money rather than the wellbeing of the students and staff. I do not think the district handled the pandemic very well. It honestly felt like the administration was bullied into their decisions by angry parents. School activities and clubs are always fun to participate in, however, lack of funding has made the clubs scarce. When funds do come into the school, it always goes directly towards sports and clubs such as theater or any arts are left to fend for themselves. Senior: Milton-Union Schools is a rural school with an average class size of 100 students. The teachers are almost always lovely and provide a great education The close knit community offers great connections and friendships. The high school has a fairly diverse range of classes, although there could be more foreign language options. As a gifted student there are challenging classes for me but the gifted services could be more available. It's overall a great school to go to and the people there are what make it so special....
