Junior: Oconee County Schools is a small, but growing hometown school system. It seems as if every teacher knows your name, and if not that personally then you at least know that someone has your back. Coming from another-much poorer- school system I am very grateful to go to school in a very safe environment. I always know a face everywhere I go, and there is always a helping hand right around the corner. If you were looking into an elementary school I will always recommend Colham Ferry, it is by far the best school in the nation. Freshman: The Commerce City Schools system has overall been an amazing school to be a part of. One undeniable fact is that when you attend Commerce City's School you are truly a part of a family. The overall atmosphere is so wondrous. You get an overwhelming amount of support, it's so encouraging. With that being said, no school is perfect, Commerce City Schools is no exception. The lack of diversity can be troubling. As an African American female having someone whom you can relate to or someone who looks like you is important, but at Commerce, this is rarely the case, you feel often like an outcast even in the midst of the family environment. Feeling like you have a place where you attend school is important. I often believe this is a very overlooked subject at Commerce City Schools. Freshman: My year at Madison County High School was awesome! I absolutely enjoyed my freshman year, and i’m sure others did as well. I have been honored to attend here. I enjoy the teachers and students that surround me everyday. This is a school I truly enjoy waking up and looking forward to attending each and everyday. I sometimes even wish to come on the weekends. I am looking forward to spending the rest of my three years here. Senior: My time within the Jackson County School System has helped prepare me for my road ahead. The opportunities to participate in different areas of interest assisted in broadening my horizons as well as expanding my leadership skills along the way. Jackson County invests in their students education and personal development. The system has implemented wonderful sports programs, a vast range of fine arts programs and encourage students of all learning types by providing a career based learning or accelerated learning programs using AP, IB, and Work Based Learning Programs to give the students an opportunity to find their niche wherever it may be.
