Sophomore: Overall Saline is a good school with lots of great teachers that are committed to what they are doing and what they are teaching; however, the school paints itself as this tremendously inclusive school, but as a student inside of the school, specifically the high school it is not as lovely as they paint it. I notice that Saline focuses primarily on the STEM field, and does not leave as much room in the budget for the humanities. For example, recently the school just got over a million dollar bond and the primary things they are doing with the money is to create things to help advance the already STEM classes at school, by doing things like build a robotics classroom. I wish they would take the time to use more of the money towards the humanities and social sciences, as that is something I am very interested in.... Read 27 reviews

Senior: Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) offers a variety of resources and extracurricular activities and opportunities that most students would typically never get while attending a public high school. The accessibility granted by AAPS made available all of its students increases both educational equity and intellectual vitality in the population of its students throughout the district. I like how many options are given to the students within AAPS both inside and out of the classroom, and the amicable bonds that can be formed between teacher and student. Sophomore: Well to start it off, a lot of my consideration I put into this rating falls on how well my teachers were. While it is going to be biased, I believe that bias can be crucial when evaluating how well a school is based on what teachers they hire. My classes I took this year all contributed to my learning and possible benefits to my future. I, a person who loves math, very much enjoyed the broad variety of business classes Chelsea High School had to offer such like personal finance, accounting, marketing, and business foundations. With each class they offer multiple intros into the real world experience. The others classes I took, for the most part, were enjoyable being that they combined some learning but occasionally fun projects or games. If i could change something, it should be the awkward scheduling which incorporated an hour break on Tuesdays and Thursday after second period. Chelsea has some issue with vaping so hopefully they can find a method to stop teens ruining their lives... Read 45 reviews

Junior: Dexter has incredible and supportive teachers and provides a high level of academic instruction. We are taught how to communicate effectively in a professional manner and gain real-world skills. The people are nice and the community is generally supportive- if a bit professional. However, Dexter does have a distinct lack of visible diversity. White, cishet, upper-middle-class kids will rise to the top of the social ladder and set the standard for behavior. There's definitely an invisible don't-ask-don't-tell rule in regard to students who do not match the aforementioned profile. That being said, there are plenty of caring people and communities within the schools, and there seems to be a place for everyone. Senior: I am a senior at Manchester High School. I have grown up in the Manchester community and know the schools like the back of my hand. The Manchester Community school system is a great place to raise your children. This school provides a small, collaborative environment which can be good for students growing up. The teachers are awesome and each kid is given any one-on-one time necessary to fully understand a subject. Along with the teachers, the classes offered are great as well. Manchester offers many upper-end classes such as honors, AP, and even other academic programs such as dual enrollment and Early College Alliance. Senior: I like how small and close together our community is. Its not very big but it really helps when you need help from a teacher because the class sizes are small and they make time for their students. Whitmore Lake really helps kids become prepared for colleges and helps them out with filling out applications and taking college tours with the students.This school is above the state average in key measures of college and career readiness.
