Senior: I would rate IHS a 4 with its academic excellence beyond any surrounding district. It offers a portfolio of many academic opportunities such as world languages, college level classes, dual-enrollment, and department help rooms. In addition to its academic excellence, IHS provides a surplus of extracurricular activities ranging from clubs, sports, and work partnerships with local teen employers. It emphasizes diversity. Not just in appearance but rather knowledge. Different opinions are encouraged and disagreement is praised. The only thing stopping me from giving this school a 5 star is its inability to be fully transparent with students before taking any significant action. For example, during the academic school year of 2022-2023, IHS pursued a reconstruction of its bathrooms to a new gender fluid bathrooms. Students saw the construction and were left with days of confusion. After its completion, students didn't like the idea and felt uncomfortable.... Read 28 reviews

Alum: Trumansburg central school district is a great place to enroll your children. This school district has some of the top academic scores in the state. There are many diverse opportunities to involve your children in outside of the school district. They have top level teachers from the area. As well it is located near Ithaca, New York so a lot of professors from Cornell and Ithaca College come to settle down in Trumansburg.... Read 6 reviews

Senior: I enjoyed the small school setting and the many opportunities that were provided to us. I was able to secure an associate's degree while in high school through the program offerings. Being a small school did not necessarily mean less opportunities. Some of the worst parts was when kids would bully and be mean to others. I experienced this myself at one point. I would like to see our society change overall in being more kind and not so judgemental.... Read 15 reviews

Senior: I am a senior at Newfield Highschool and while I have attended most of the middle and Highschool I can personally say the teachers and staff are amazing.The classes that are offered most different fit diverse educational plans and many courses are offered to prepare students for college level courses and can even help you graduate with your associates degree. During my freshman year i was involved in many clubs with I am still involved in! Student council and many other clubs offer fun activities for students to express themselves and show school spirit. The community is very well brought together. The community is not very diverse and the administration is constantly changing but they do their best to not let that effect student education....
